Unveiling the realities of IIM Trichy: A Candid Review

IIMs offer PGPM courses for MBA, earlier it was PGDM but after 2017 every IIM started offering PGPM and you will be awarded an MBA General Management degree after 2years of successful completion. For entire PG courses Faculty,: student ratio is around 1:13, which is good. And Faculties are permanently offering Ph.D. courses in their domain. Apart from this, you will be exposed to a rich Guest faculty list from foreign universities and old IIMs. Every faculty is a Ph.D. holder in their domain from top colleges and India and also some are from foreign universities, They have also industry experience in their domain and are also associated with various consulting projects. Some faculties are editorial writers in National financial newspapers. There will be a total of 6 terms duration varying from 2.5 to 3 months. Almost every week you will be writing an examination. Your evaluation will not be based on a single exam, during the entire term, you will be evaluated.

Your dream companies will be here to offer you roles based on your eligibility. Companies like, JPMC, Colgate, Reliance, ICICI, and L&T will be top recruiters. Roles offered to vary from company to company. You can also get opportunities for live projects.

Till now IIM Trichy has a 100% placement record and final placements will be completed within 15 days in the month of November-December. The placement committee (run by students) will conduct your placements and the Prep team will help you to prepare for your placements including organizing Mock Interviews, and GDs with industry experts. Well known reputed firms are appointed to prepare students for placements. Last year's highest package was 34 LPA and the average was around 17.1 LPA.

Second Generation IIMs have almost equivalent fees, which is 18 Lakh for the complete course. These fees include your all expenses including hostel fees and mess fees. If you are a student from OBC, SC, or ST community you can get a scholarship awarded from the central government and various state governments also offer scholarships for their domicile students. Apart from this, you can get the benefit of the IDFC First Scholarship. You are an MBA student so during your entire journey of two years you will get various opportunities to earn a good income through Case Competitions, competitions, quizzes by clubs and committees, Internship opportunities provided by the placement team and last but not least your Summer Internship opportunity.

Your MBA campus life is a mix of enriched social and culture environments. Every month you will be experiencing events organized by clubs and committees. there will be a Sports section war 'Kurukshetra'. 1st year vs 2nd year, you will get the opportunity to make your own team and play. Each festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. There will be dance night, movie night, and prom night. Dhruva is the annual fest of IIM Trichy. If you are a sports enthusiast you can get a chance to play in Sangram, which is like the Olympics for South Indian IIMs (IIM-B, IIM-K, IIM-T, IIM-V). IIM Trichy's library or LRC has one of the largest collections of books and online journals. As a student, you will get subscriptions and direct access to many expensive journals. Your classroom experience will be the best of its kind, full of discussions on every topic and you will be always promoted to actively participate. Classes are smart classrooms with centralised AC facilities.

For the PGPM course, you need Bachelor in any domain for IIMs. When you will fill CAT form, the option will be there to select IIMs and their courses. If you failed to select there any IIM you will not be able to apply them by any means in the future. The benefits of reservation vary from gender to category and academic background. If you are a female candidate some IIMs offer a gender diversity score, if you are from a non-Btech background then you can get an academic diversity score based on selected courses under the list.
