Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is pretty easy. It also includes class 11th and 12th syllabus and mainly has theoretical topics. The computer science faculty are really good and teaches effectively. Also, it includes different languages of computers in the syllabus. The Physics Department is quite average, especially the practical faculty. They have a shortage of staff sometimes. Other faculty are fine. I choose this course mainly because of computer science as it has good scope in future and is quite interesting. Often 2-3 faculty teach a particular course to the students and some are guest teachers too. The faculty are quite qualified and most of them did Ph.D. in their subject. The exams are conducted regularly whether in terms of class tests or internals. Have a proper structure for organizing exams. The exams are not very hard quite easy often easy to get a pass if the student studied legit for 1.5 months only.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internships are conducted regularly in the college. One company is TADS Education which was founded in 2020, by alumni of the world's top-most institutions. It provides Perks/Stipend of INR 8000 per month (4000 fixed + 4000 variables). The role was to Interact with Coaching Centers, Student Clubs and build mutually collaborative partners. Also, interact with students in high school to encourage them to enroll in the program. Reach out to brands to build strategic & commercial partnerships. Another internship was at Titli and fund scores. The stipend was 10000 per month+ with additional perks based on performance. The role was to Reach out to the clients and pitch about FundCorps and Arrange for a meeting between the client and the FundCorps CEO meeting.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college placements are really good. The 3rd year students get eligible for campus placements. The college successfully organized its placement internship fair Envision 4. More than 1,200 registrations were received for the Maitreyi College Delhi placement internship fair 2022 and over 1,000 students participated. A total number of students was around 955 and around 100 Students were placed and several applied for higher studies. The median package was INR 4 LPA. The leading companies that visited the Maitreyi College DU campus in recent year's placements are Amazon, TresVista, and Cvent. The highest number of internship offers were made to Commerce department students. I am planning to go for further studies after the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is pretty affordable and ranges between 7k-12k for a year, depending on the course applied. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Tribes are awarded scholarships by the States to which they belong. Such students have to fill out application forms from the Accounts Section immediately after their admission and submit the same duly completed along with the required certificates. Our college also provides scholarships to students for their financial needs in education. It regularly provides internships along with a decent stipend. It provides an opportunity to work with NGOs to develop a personality.

Campus Life

5

It's great. The college is located in Chanakyapuri in the embassy area which is one of the most beautiful and safe locations in Delhi. It's half a km from Satya Niketan, the main market of South Campus DU. Most students from out of town stay in PG accommodation here. The library is well stocked and has an internet computer room and AV hall as well. The whole college is Wi-Fi enabled. There are many extracurricular societies. the dance society Zeal is fiercely competitive and has won several intercollegiate awards. The drama society is famous for putting up plays that teach society a lesson and they make headlines for their shows in newspapers. Besides societies, some clubs are highly responsive that is run by students. Students can play basketball or any other game whenever want to.

Admission

Admission was based on merit scores. There was no entrance for the course (BSc physical science) and was completely based on merit scores. The cut-off list came out and the students had to apply for the college. If the student were eligible for a particular college in the first cutoff and hadn't applied in that cutoff, he/she won't be eligible to apply for that particular college in the coming cutoffs. The application form was available on the official du website. After the details submitted by the student are checked by the college, he/she became eligible to pay the fees in the same portal where he/she had applied. It was all an online-based process. In several colleges, women got -1% of negotiation cutoffs. The student was eligible to change the college or course in the next cutoffs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested course. It's relevant to the exams in that particular field. The syllabus for life and other exams in this field. I think that there is a lack of actual real life practice in basic courses. If could be made more aligned to what we do in real life it would have been better. The exams are easy enough to pass by just studying one month before exams and submitting the internal assessments properly. There are end semester exams which gives enough time to prepare well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i believe CS hons is a decent course. The curriculum is however, very outdated. We are being taught several topics that have no relevance these days and they arent even taught properly. I believe a far better choice would be doing BTech instead since it has a better course and companies prefer that over BSc CS. In terms of preparing for the real world, i believe this course has no use since the most important parts we have to learn it ourselves. Exams are conducted once at the end of every semester (including practical and theory). However during the semesters, there are multiple tests taken to asses our knowledge regularly

I chose this course because statistics is a rising field and is used everywhere . Also l had a good command on Statistics and maths in 12th standard. I believe that this course is really very relevant for today's world but could be made a bit more practical to be applied in real world situations.
