Course Curriculum Overview
Anyone who seriously wants to be a doctor should choose this course, it's not a cakewalk. I wanted to be a doctor, that's why I am here. There are about 12 Professors, 15-18 Senior Residents, in each clinical subject, while 5-7 professors & 10 SRs in pre/para-clinical subjects The faculty here is one of the most educated faculties in the field of medicine, but when it comes to teaching methods, its only PowerPoint slides, which they go through, and only a few teachers put extra effort to teach us better. Exams usually occur on time, except now because of COVID-19, but it's too difficult to pass the exam, you need to study a whole year to pass the exam in the final year, although for the first three years, it's relatively easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
As per the curriculum, we need to undergo one year of rotary/compulsory internship after MBBS, for which we are paid 23k/month. But these internship duties are too hectic, and sometimes can go on for more than 24 hours at once. Students who are interested also do some other research projects under the guidance of professors, which is linked with ICMR.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is not much problem regarding fees, as it is barely 2K/year, so scholarships are also not much in number, there are a few scholarships but won't need that. The main cost to study will be your coaching fee which you will be paying for the entrance exam. As part of the curriculum, you have to undergo a rotary/compulsory internship for 1 year after MBBS, where you will get 23K/mon.
Campus Life
There are mainly 2 fests, SYNAPSE- Intercollege fest of 4-5 days, where other colleges also participate, held mostly in the month of April. GOONJ- Intra college fest held in the month of September, There are a lot of books in the library which can't be read in a year. Classrooms are Ok except for the fact that stray dogs of college campuses sometimes also take a tour of classrooms, classroom is well equipped with a projector. We have volleyball, badminton, and basketball ground in our hostel, although students play football & cricket more on the basketball ground. There are various societies- dance, music, literature, etc, along with a social group- HANDS THAT HELP which distributes basic items to poor needy people.
