Remarks

The college I have enrolled in is Cooch Behar Government Engineering College. I completed the counseling process and according to my rank in JEE I got to this college. I am a general category student so I didn't have any quota. When I took admission in this college the admission criteria was JEE rank under 15000 and there was no age limit. The admission process was offline based, students have to come to the college with all necessary documents and then they can apply for admission

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this particular course because I love to work with machines. We have almost one to two teachers for each subject. All facilities are highly qualified and well experienced.. and their teaching is also very good. We have to write three exams for each semester, 1st internal, 2nd internal, and semester exam. I don't think passing an exam is that difficult but obviously, if you don't read how would you pass?

As this is a new college, I don't expect more. But some of my seniors are doing very well in their field. 1. Most of my seniors went to various NITs and IITs for M.Tech through the GATE exam. 2. Some students got PSUs 3. The TPO cell of our college is improving day by day. Campus placement is not that good and not that bad. Especially for core branch campus placement is not that good (According to my seniors). 95 students got a placement through CP. Some got PPO 4. Some of them went for MBA and I also want to go for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a government college so the overall fees are not too high, and it's affordable. I didn't get any scholarships on campus. I mean I do have a scholarship but not from the college. Currently, I am a third-year student so I can't say anything about job or placement

Campus Life

Every year we organize a tech-fest where students can participate in various events like debates, robot wars, tech quizzes, etc. And many cultural programs are also there like singing, dancing, etc. We have a library where we can have all kinds of books related to our course. Our classes are so interactive. Every year there are two different sports events Cricket and Football. And in these spots, we play against different colleges. We have different social groups run by students like the photography group, Ramdhanu, Ajanteik, etc.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
