Remarks
I filled out the application form as my marks in 12th boards were more than 60 which is the eligibility criteria of Thapar. Most of the information regarding the admission which is the application form release and its end date is uploaded on the main website. The application fees are also given in the brochure. I am a General Outside Punjab, so there was no reservation for me and if there is any reservation in admission, I don't have knowledge about it. I filled in my JEE marks and Boards marks and the admission was merit based on these particular marks. Boards marks were checked for eligibility and branches were allotted on the cut-offs of JEE marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing BE in EIC (Electronics Instrumentation & Control), and the course curriculum is good as it is set according to the need of the time. I chose this course because this branch of engineering studies the measurement and control of process variables , and design and implementation of systems that incorporate them. Choosing EIC pays off well as the placement of TIET is good. The faculty: student ratio of lectures is 1:120 and for practicals 1:30. All the faculty of TIET are well qualified and studied at IITs or abroad. They mainly are doctors in their respective fields and teach in the most effective ways using projectors and different visual methods. They clear all the doubts of students and help them in every way possible. The exam papers are difficult in ESTs and easy for MSTs and always take place timely.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come for placement in Tiet like Apple, Microsoft, JPMC, NVidia, D Shaw, etc. Internship in TIET starts from the 5th semester and also provides projects to students so they can have practical experiences. The average placement of TIET is 14.5 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of Thapar is costly and increases 10% early per semester, but TIET provides different scholarships. Scholarships are provided to definte number fo students.1st year scholarship is based on the merits on which you are admitted to college from 2nd year the scholarships are based on CGPA scored and also for students who are financially weak.
Campus Life
Campus life TIET is very nice and students get to experience a lot of things and get to grab many opportunities. Students from different states come here so you get to know about different cultures. The annual fest here is Saturnalia which goes for 3 days in which we have different events in which we can take part and on the 3rd day we have Bollywood night where a celebrity is invited. TIET has library which is of 4 floors and have different section for different departments. Nava Nalanda is one of the largest library in North India.
Other Applied Colleges
SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
