Remarks

Admission to an MBBS or a medical college starts with a competitive exam Named NEET which the aspirant has to clear with a good rank to enter into a government medical college. The form for the NEET exam has to be filled out online on the government portal named http:/neet.nta.nic.in. The exam is most probably going to be in the month of May-June next year and the form for the exam will be released in Dec-Jan. As with other government exams, this exam has various reservation benefits with seats reserved for a particular section of people like obs, sc, st, ews, etc. The admission process is quite simple but the form should fill with utmost care and also you have to check the site daily for information regarding any updates. I think a notification feature should be given in which the aspirant should be notified via email so that a small mistake may not cause him/her another year of study.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course as it was my childhood dream to become a doctor and see my elder brother become one, the spark just never gets off me despite being good in maths I opt for biology and appeared for the NEET exam. The faculty-student ratio is not so good as the batch is 250 students but as there are 19 subjects in our course so the faculty just outmatch the number of a single batch. My college i.e. Maulana Azad Medical College is one of the best colleges in India and the faculty here is the reason which makes it what it is, in short, you get the best faculty here, with new and interesting teaching methods and with a huge amount of knowledge. The exams were not so timely at the beginning due to the Coronavirus situation but later on, the timings were rescheduled and now they are just perfect.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college is attached to one of the biggest hospitals in India, that is Lok Nayak Jai Prakash, LNJP hospital (Irwin hospital). Along with Maulana Azad Dental College, Guru Nanak eye care Centre as well as a multi-specialty hospital that is GB Pant Hospital. So after our course is completed after 4.5 years we have to do our internship in these hospitals for 1 year and we are paid accordingly on per month basis.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees in MAMC (this is what we call our college) are very less than most of the medical colleges, that is just rupees 2350/-per year which is I guess very good for all the students of different economic statuses studying here. There are scholarships for which a student can apply, depending upon various basis like family situation or excellence in the course, etc. There are no job options here on the campus as it is a perfect learning place for undergraduates and MBBS is a tough course so physical jobs are really difficult to cope with this course.

Campus Life

4

There are various fests and events which are going on on campus starting with the intra-college event "Goonj" where all the societies of MAMC gather and organize various fun activities, DJ nights, and lots and lots of games to let your stress go away. After that various events are kept on being organized the whole year by the societies and then comes the best event of the year is the intercollege event of MAMC "Synapse", this year was great fun attending it and it was just awesome and full of games and fun activities, star night, DJ night, the whole campus is decorated like a bride and then there is a party all over the campus( which is never-ending not until the sun on the next day slaps on our faces while we are just tired of dancing the whole night). I short a great experience to have. The libraries are good with almost all the books available and the classrooms are spacious and well designed for a batch of 250. Societies like dance, sports, art, etc. Are always working hard here

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The room for the first-year students is of a capacity of 6-7 but in following years it gets reduced to a single seater in the final year. The hostels are not very good but day after day you start loving it the washrooms and not so good and the walls may have some spots but they are manageable. The meal quality is good because there are around 6 different messes and canteens here where you can eat, drink tea or just hang out so no problem with meal quality as there is competition among these food centers. Hostels are provided based on the distance of your home from the college and around 80 boys get the hostel in the first year but year after year other students also get the hostel. The hostel is applied for after the admission process is completed and then in the college, you have to fill out a form, and then you will be allotted a room if you come above the priority list.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well structured and includes detailed study of all the aspects of medicine which is very relevant in today's world. Since mbbs curriculum is more about practical and less about theory we get a really good patient exposure which makes us ready to deal with patient problems in real life. The course curriculum can be made a little less hectic as in fourth year there are 11 subjects to cover so they can be distributed equally in all the other years and teaching methods can be made more interactive instead of professors just reading the slides monotonously

Curriculum of mbbs is very comprehensive and makes you capable of handling medical emergencies, and not miss out on diagnosing critical cases. With the new CBME curriculum by nmc in place, additional focus is also given on the AETCOM (attitude, ethics and communication) module which is aimed at improving the quality of healthcare professionals produced by this country.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is decided by the NMC therefore it is same for all of the doctors. Our college has a good clinical exposure and thus we learn a lot. The course prepares you well, but you always have to learn by yourself. In the area of clinical expertise the treatment of common disease must be taught separately. We have exams Nearly every 3 months, which can be tough to manage, considering that you have to score an average of more than 50% in them . Difficulty level is intermediate
