Remarks

It is a govt college. Admission is mainly through WBJEE. To get this college JEE rank should be 10,000 to 20,000. Candidate should apply for counselling process. Application form,fees all are given in college website. Reservation fescilities are there if you are sc/St/ obc-a category. admission fees gets reduced.

Course Curriculum Overview

Civil engineering is one of the core streams. It has high demand in the current situation. This college provides a good learning environment. Teachers are qualified enough to provide great knowledge and sufficient numbers. Student capacity is 80 and the teachers present is more than 10 which is sufficient. 2-semester exam and in each sem, there was 2 internal exam. It is easy to pass the exam.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 52000 per year

Placement Experience

From 3rd year (6th sem) students become eligible for campus placement. TCS, Infosys, Mahindra, l&t construction etc company visits there. avg placement is more than 60% with a salary package of 3.2lpa. The highest package is 8lpa from the computer science dept. My plan is to go for higher studies like MTech. to explore more civil engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester academic fees are 4,800 rs. Hostel and flooding approximately 14000 rs. Here cost to study is very minimal. Students can avail of different types of scholarships under different criteria. Vivekanda scholarship is there for students in economically weaker sections. Job opportunity is good. Students in computer science get good placement. Avg salary package 3.2lpa.

Campus Life

One annual fest named 'ESPERANZA' is held in November month. There is one library for students with sufficient books. There are 2 playgrounds with all the equipment available. Student welfare society is there for students. this social group is run by students only.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are sufficient spacious. 3 beds in one room.2 fans,3 lights and cupboard is there for students. Mess food is not bad. Veg and non veg both are provided. Hostel will be allocated at the time of admission.Here 10,000 rs is charged at the time of admission for hostel. Around 200m vicinity you can easily get pg or personal room.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
