Remarks

To get admission in msc maths you have to qualify IIT JAM exam . After that counselling is done then if you are qualifying cut of this college you will get admission. The application form for this exam comes in September and exam is generally conducted in February. All B.Sc students getting more than 60% are eligible for this exam. In our college NITC B. TECH students are also eligible. Reservation benefits are also given in this exam like ews, sc students get relaxation in cut off. Generally students finds counselling procedure tough so it could be made easier in future.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course M. Sc maths because I want to do phd in mathematics. Here faculties are highly educated, supporting. They will help you whenever you need their help.here boys and girls in msc maths are nearly same in number. All faculties are IITians Or NITians. The teaching method of most of faculties is very good. In M. Sc maths 4 semester are there and in each sem two examination mid sem and end sem are confuducted. If you will study then it is easier to pass but if you will not study then it will be difficult for you to survive here because seminar and projects are also carried out here.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement for msc students is not good because only teaching companies are interested in msc students. Only few companies like akash, fiitjee come here which take 2 or 3 students.Note that msc student are elgible for many companies but they do nit get placed because of poor programming. I want to do go in research so ibeill do phd

Fees and Financial Aid

Here fees structure for msc maths is higher as compared to other colleges (Non IIT and NIT). But in among all NITs NIT CALICUT as least fee for msc maths. But generally fees hike every year which I think is not good thing. Here central scholarship is provided to meritorious students, poor students and reserved students . No stipend is provided to MSc students. Also MSc students placement chances are very low. I have not any job at present.

Campus Life

5

Here cultural fest ragam take place in month of march in celebrities come to perform . Jonita Gandhi snd Mohit chauhan came to NITC IN Ragm 22.Because of covid Ragam 22 was on 30 and 31may . Also tech fest tathva concluded recently on21, 22,23 October. Shreya ghosal, Nakas Aziz etc came to perform. All types of books are available in library. You will get each type journal foreign as well as indian. Here each classroom has projectors, well spaced, library is there, 2 labs are there so infrastructure is awesome. Sports like cricket, volleyball is played here and tournament are organised.Onam is celebrated here very widely. It will be so much fun since everyone wears dhoti so it was a new experience for me since I am from North india. Other curricular activities like quizes, workshops, expert talks are organized here. sac_nitc instaid is there for helping students. Since I am mathematics student so I know one club called club mathematica which conducts quizes etc for students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

In room I get one chair, table, almirah, fan, tubelight. Electricity is available for 24 hours. Here food in mess is just ok or it's not good. But it is manageable. Menu of different messes are different. Here 10 or 12 mess are there you can chose anyone. Hostel registration is done when you come for admission which is easy procedure. It is affordable 2000 nearly for 1 month for hostel and 3600 per month for mess. No I live in hostel

Practical Applications like practical session, intership or industrial collaboration that gives hands on experience influence me to choose this course (biotechnology). Core subjects like genetics , molecular biology, genetic engineering, microbiology etc.. and connection with field like bioinformatics, bioprocessing etc .. prepare me for further academic pursuits. For practical session teaching method requires improvement. The frequency and timing of exam is a difficult level .

Our batch was in Covid lag batch. So the course curriculum was highly rushed. We weren't able to cover aspects which would have real world applications. The last semester research project was fine but still more hands on experience and more research oriented approach could've been taken .

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is overall average. the vcurriculum is not up-to-date, and the changes in technology or the new innovations and updations in technology are not introduced in the curriculum. also the inconsistency in conducting exams is also a problem; the university is to blame for that; there is no fixed time period or a timetable for the examinations conducted by the university. and also the dirty politics going on in the university is also to blame for this.
