Remarks

I appeared for WBJEE and after that based on my rank attended a counselling session where the seat allotment process was going on. There I got a list of vacancies based on my rank and from there I choose the college and the specific department.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose this course after some discussion with my parents and relatives, this college was nearby Kolkata with a good faculty, who had quite some experience in teaching Engineering subjects, which I got to know from my relatives who already had experience regarding all these things. The teaching method that was incorporated there was interactive and the teachers were quite friendly. The examinations happened from time to time which helped us prepare for the semester examinations very well. Some semesters were difficult to pass, and some were easy based on the course and the subject. Earlier the college was under WBUT and now it is under JIS University.

Internships Opportunities

2

The present scenario of the stipend offered is not known, but back from 2008 to 2012 the scope was pretty limited. We had to arrange for the internship on our own. So this was an area of major concern back in the day. I am sure after the takeover of the JIS group things might have improved.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not really aware how much the current fees of my college but during the four years of my course, there was no fee hike. The bank loan was available at that time for college fees. I did not get any job on campus with a stipend.

Campus Life

4

ECHO was the name of the fest, that took place annually usually in the month of January or February. Books and reading materials were available in the library in abundance and were sufficient for our preparation for semester exams. The college had Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket and Football as sports options. There was a playground at the disposal of students for extracurriculars.

Placement Experience:

Placement in our college is descent . Students typically become eligible for campus placement starting from the 5th Semester. For CSE/IT companies like TCS,CTS ,WIPRO, ACCENTURE etc... come for the placements. For Core branches like EE,ECE,ME Companies like L &T ,samsung, TATA Steel etc...come for offers. The highest package is around 8 to 10 LPA and the average is around 4 to 5 LPA. 70% to 80% of RCCIIT generally get placed across varios department. My plan is to persue MS from abroad/.

Placement ratio of the college is very good, cadets start getting placements from 2nd year but majorly the mass placement process starts from 3rd year. The packages ranges from 400-1200 USD as an engine cadet. There are major companies such as CHEVRON, MSC, DYNAGAS, NYK, FLEET MANAGEMENT, PACIFIC BASIN, MOL, IOCL, ZODIAC MARITIME, TORM TANKERS, etc that visit the college for placements every year. For every batch the placement ratio is above 95%. This college is known for its placements and alumni network

But one thing they always putting us pressure for submit money I mean fees from one month ago of the submission date of our fees. Nothing else just hoping for the best for future.
