Remarks

I got admission under the special cutoff. The whole process was online when I got admission due to Covid. I even spent the whole first year in online classes. There is a common form for all the colleges under the University of Delhi except St. Stephens College. The college in which I am studying right now i.e. Daulat Ram College is much better. Various facilities are provided such as a sports complex, understanding and helping teaching staff, etc. I am satisfied with the college. The infrastructure is also good, placements are also made every year.

I chose BA English Hons. The class size is not that big so everyone gets the concepts easily. The teachers are well qualified. Their teaching method is also quite easy to grab and they are ready to help whenever you face any issues. The term exams were quite moderate and they were neither hard nor so easy.

Placement Experience

Around 80-90 percent of the students get placements. Several countries do visit the college for the same. As far as I know, in the third year of college which is the final year, the students get eligible for placements. The average package offered is about 5-6 Lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course is quite affordable as it costs around 15.5k per year. The college provides various internship opportunities and also there are schemes for the students who belong to a financially weaker section.

Campus Life

The classrooms are equipped with amenities such as a projector etc. Sports and extracurricular activities are also organized timely. There are many groups and societies in our college such as alahiya (music society), literati (English literature society), etc. The library provides a variety of books although it is not that big it feels good over there to read books personally which I felt.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

Placement Experience:

SRCC has one of the best campuses and our basketball court is so famous that many movies too have been promoted and shot there. Our campus is big too and our auditorium is such that many top personalities have come and spoken there. Even leaders like Barrack Obama too had an interaction with SRCC students in an open air event.

Insights into DRC

After appearing for CUET UG, we make preferences of the desired college and on the basis on the CUET score, colleges are alloted. So, Daulat Ram College was my 7th preference and I was alloted this as per my category and cut off I cleaned. Although it was 7th preferred college, I have no regret of getting into it. Good internship opportunities

The admission process till last year in University of Delhi was on the basis of 12th std marks, but from this new session(2022-2023) there is an entrance test CUET. The eligibility for the same was the student must've cleared 12th board exams and the application form was available on NTA official site. People with reservations(SC, ST, OBC etc..) do get a lot of benefits like for them the marks are less for getting a good college as compared to non- reservation seats.
