Remarks

The college management is really very good. The best part is that, the students have an equal part in the college management because of the college parliament. The environment is very friendly and the competition is healthy. I am happy and satisfied to be a part of this college.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for IIT JEE MAINS and cleared it with 120 marks and scored 150 marks in BITSAT. But I did not want to go for engineering. I took those exams just for checking myself. I wanted to do something in Pure Sciences and my favorite subject was Mathematics, so I wanted to study further in Mathematics. Delhi University is one of the best universities of India and Hindu College is one of the best colleges of this university. I knew it would be best for me in providing me knowledge as well as the exposure needed. That is why this college and course were my first choices.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure seems very nice. Particular topics are taken as core subjects , semester wise , and detailed study of these topics is done. One can easily do research on such topics after going through the course. It gets more difficult and deeper every semester.

Internships Opportunities

Not the college in particular, but internships are provided. There are various socities in our college for various works and one of them is for providing internships. Abhyas is the society that provides internships to the college students. It ran the Hindu Youth Summit , in which a lot of big companies came and provided internships. The summit was a hit. Conferro Heritae Private Limited , Barometer , Abhivyakti , Brainpan Innovations , Financial Doctor , Vyapt , Wedding Affair , Mash Project ,The Delhi Food Walks and many many more such companies became a part. Stipend was mostly work progress based. Upto Rs. 8000 were provided by some companies.

Placement Experience

5

The placement and job opportunities are also very nice. Disha, the placement society , takes care of the placement opportunities for the students. Though most of the students want to study further, still more than 50% of the are placed from our department through both on campus and off campus selections.

College Events

5

A lot of events take place in my college. There are a lot many societies in my college for different activities. Also there are different departments of all the many courses. All the societies and all the departments have their separate fresher's and farewell every year , on the college level. In between , all of them have their own fests at inter college level. Then there is our college fest , Mecca , which is considered to be one of the best fests of DU. Apart from fests , a lot of cultural activities , social activities take place , like blood donation camps, cleanliness drives , various competitions, and various seminars.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. It is taken under consideration that every child , regardless of the background can take admission in the colleges of DU , as these are government colleges. The per year fee of most of the colleges is even less than what the students are paying per month for accommodation.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know of any such thing. But as per to my knowledge , no loans or any such thing is provided by the college. I guess scholarships are provided to the university toppers.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is awesome. As already told above , there are various fests and freshers' and farewell parties. There are a lot of societies in our college , from dance society to singing society , to dramatics and debating societies. There are also societies providing social services. All the societies are run by the students with the help of teachers and by the fund from college. Our college has its own Parliament, with the college Principal as the President. The rime Minister is appointed from the students by the students. The Prime Minister has his Council of Ministers which helps him run the college. The gender ratio is very nice. There is no discrimination seen here , not on the basis of caste or gender or race or religion or nationality.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There was no Girls' Hostel in our college till this year. It would open shortly , so the details are not out yet. Most girls live in PGs nearby. The PGs cost comparatively higher than needed. But they are provided with food , laundry and various other services within. The Boys' Hostel is fully occupied and the mess is quite good. I do not know much about that though as girls are not allowed there.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Meets are held by different departments and also by the college. Most alumni stay in contact with the college. The seniors in particular are very nice. They are very supportive and kind. No ragging took place in the college. The seniors take good care of us juniors, especially in our first year. They provide us with study materials and tell us about various competitive exams.

Exam Structure

The exams were pretty chilled out. As the course was completed on time and we got enough preparatory leaves , the syllabus was easily revised. So the exams were not such hectic. Even the labs and practicals were nice as the teachers and the externals were quite supportive.

Admission

There is no entrance examination and the admission procedure is purely based on cut offs on Class 12th board results. The registration form was out in mid May. The admissions started in the beginning of July. There were different cut offs for different colleges and different course. One could apply in the college of their choice within 3 days after the cut off list was out. Different colleges had different numbers of cut off list. If one was eligible for a cut off , one could get admitted by doing some easy paper work in the college. The admission procedure in the colleges were easy as there were volunteers and teachers to help one out. Withdrawal from a college also had an easy process. You can also withdraw from one college and get admitted to another on the same day.

Faculty

4

The faculty of college is quite nice. The teachers of my department are really helpful and very qualified too. Most of them are PhDs. They even take extra classes just to clear the doubts of students. They help a lot during the time of exams and practicals. Some of the teachers also help some students with there thesis works and even provide them summer internships under them. They all are really generous.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
