Remarks

Overall good experience. During my time it was rated amongst top 5 colleges of Mumbai. Also today it has got a good name. I don't have any specific comments for the Management since I was not involved in any college elections or activities.

Entrance Preview

I didn''t take any entrance examination for getting admitted to Narsee Monjee College. I applied for FYJC immediately after my 10th SSC Examination Results.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Average. Since it was a University Course where the curriculum is pre-decided and goes for year after the year. off late I have heard after 12th standard there are different stream in commerce, like BAF, BBM, etc. where focus is given on certain selected subject which I believe must be giving added knowledge (more importantly practical experience) which can be used in real world after they passout.

Internships Opportunities

No the course was BCom where there is no compulsory requirement to undergo internship and our college also didn't provide any internship since it was not mandatory. Since Internship in Bcom was not compulsory no companies approached the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At that point of time reasonable. the Education has become very expensive in last 10 years after introduction of differnt education Board like IB and IG ec. In our time it was predominantly SSC and few schools ICSE. Student and Parent both were happy there was no cut throat competition like these days. I really fail to understand where the education system is heading.

Campus Life

3

There were few extra-curriculum activities in-house and inter-collegiate. Infrastructure was okay not so great. Only indoor gymkhana with basic facilities was available. Normally Male student participated in sports more. In other college festivals the participation levels were equal.

Alumni/Alumna

Not really. Recently there was an event for alumni where batch wise people had gathered but I personally didn't find it interesting. I didn't even meet more than 10 student of my batch. so my response to this question will not be very warm.

Admission

Since I had scored a decent percentage my admission process was easy. Further I was from GPP High School which is affiliated to Kelavani Mandal where the students studying in affiliated schools get preference in admission. However I applied under the open quota since I had a decent score

Faculty

4

The subjects when I passed out was standard (same since many years) and so were the professors/ teachers. Few of them were good others were not so good and I would rate them average. However I feel after so many years that is how it is in any school or college. few professors/ teachers are good not all.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
