Remarks
My admission was done online and the admission process was a little tough because no one picked up the phone in case of difficulty. Otherwise, the college is fine but I think it should reduce the intake as they are continuously increasing it day by day. Scholarships are provided to worthy students and the college administration is fine. The courses are well designed and give industrial knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is fine except for certain courses like Professional communication. It's purely a practical subject but unfortunately, we have an exam for that as well. Otherwise, the courses are well designed but the faculty-to-student ratio is bad around 200:1.
Internships Opportunities
Oracle, Paytm, cisco, focus energy, upcloud technology, applicant AI, Axis bank, DE shaw, sales force, talentsurf, and many more companies visit for the technical and non-technical profile. The average stipend is above 50 k for most of the companies.
Placement Experience
we'll have our placement begging from the 5th semester and we can apply for an internship after the 3rd year. Internships off campus can be applied in the first and second year as well. Otherwise, placements seem to be good.
Fees and Financial Aid
Thapar is an expensive college and the full 4-year BTech cost around 25 lacs and still increasing. Although I didn't get any scholarships those students who had a decent rank in JEE and Boards do get to avail themselves.
Campus Life
Campus and social life are great here. Classrooms are completely modern and have great amenities here. The annual tech fest here is saturnalia and that is amazing to witness. The library over here is awesome and it's great to have such a conducive environment.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are fine but we have to vacate the hostel every 6 months and that is a headache for far living children. The registration process and hostel management are also friendly and the mess quality is also good.
