Honest review of VIT, pune

The admission process was simple, we needed to carry three photocopies of all the necessary documents and submit them to the authority. Then payment of fees was done using a DD cheque and the fees receipt was provided to us. Finally, the online registration of the student was done and we were provided with the PRN number and admission was confirmed.

The semester was three months long due to COVID for the first two semesters so exams were conducted quite early in online mode. The exam was based on what was taught in the lectures and you can easily pass them with good grades if you take notes and revise them before exams. The faculty to students ratio is 1:30 and every group of 21 students is provided with a guide which is awesome. The college is autonomous so the subject was placement oriented since the beginning.

The best part about college is that the college provides you with an on-campus internship and you basically just have to showcase your skills and the internship is in your pocket. The stipend reaches up to 50-70k for tech students and it's quite decent for others as well.

Students become eligible for campus placement from the 4th year and the hiring is done on the basis of the skills and cgpa of the student. Companies like Deutsch bank, Barclays, TCS, Wipro and all the mass recruiters come here. Tech giants can also be seen on the campus on some occasions. The highest package ranges from 20lpa to 33 lpa.

The fee structure of the college is 186000 per year for a general category student but it is equally expensive if you are from another category. The fee hike is not seen for students already admitted but fresher can experience it. The campus provides internship opportunities which is really good.

Vishwakarandak is the most popular fest here. It's basically a competition where all departments fight for victory including the first year department. Besides, there are frequent lectures on various opportunities and events going on in the college. There are more than 40+ technical+ non-technical clubs where students can develop their skills.

The hostel is expensive compared to living in shared flats and pg. It is approx 3 km away from the college and the presence of uphill and downhill makes it a terrible experience for walking and cycling. The rooms are average and cleaning is done on weekly basis. You need to pay fees to account session for admission to the hostel and it's really not affordable instead share flats with classmates.
