Portal will be for filling out the application form for b.ed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I had my major in home science so no other college was there for b.ed in home science as I wanted to pursue teaching so I opt for this. There are around 10-15 teachers in the b.ed faculty of Lady Irwin College. And around 90 students of b.ed. So every teacher teaches some part of every subject in an interdisciplinary manner. Teachers are really good and well educated most of them are M.ed. and some could be PHD also and their way of teaching is very practical and experiential. Term exams occur two times as b.ed is an annual course so after one-year exams happen. One is during September -October. Final exams happen in May probably after the completion of the second year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure if compared to private institutions is decent as in private colleges to complete b.ed one needs at least 50K- 1lac per year to pay. While here it is only around 35k-36k.The fees are reduced in the second year to 29-30K. Scholarships are provided to students like student aid fund where you get 4k-5k for one year. There are scholarships for meritorious students also and that is also around 4-5K.
Campus Life
Annual Fests happen in march in the college. Also, there is a DJ evening event that happens in October. Other than these various mela like Diwali Mela, youth mela and other activities are also done at the campus which make students get engaged in the surroundings properly. The library is good, it has a computer-generated automated system through which one can find the books with their shelf number. One just has to put the name of the book or author on the computer available in the library. Different sections for PhD and M.sc students to study in silence. There are various extra-curricular activities on the campus where they can enrol themselves in different societies like dance, music, fine arts, sports, NCC. Students can also take part in elections and become the president, secretary, joint-secretary and many more of college. Various catering projects, entrepreneurship projects also happen in which students take part.
