Entrance Preview

AIEEE rank 15243 this was the best college in the state. Run by the central govgood facilities, good faculty and good crowd of people. Took civil engineering because that is the course i got.

Course Curriculum Overview

Good curriculum. Did an elective in chemistry as well. Good experience good subject to take as it gave me a good insight over the subjects. Took an elective in transportation planning as well.

Internships Opportunities

Internship options are very poor. Not many options for civil engineering students. There are many options for computer science students and they get stipend upto 70000.

Placement Experience

Placement options are very poor. Not many options for civil engineering students. Good non core companies. Lot of IT and software firms.

College Events

We have many college clubs which conduct events every week. We also have a tech fest and a cultural fest. Colleges come from all over the country.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is feasible. Almost 22000 per semester which is around 44000 per year. This is a rather sensible amount. The fees were doubled from the succeeding batch of students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There us a scholarship for the DASA students. More than 60% of the fees gets covered by this scholarship. Loans are provided by most banks as well.

Campus Life

Campus life is really good. Lot of club activities and sports events for students who are interested. There are no hostel parties as such. There is proper gender equality and tolerance.

Exam Structure

Exams every month. Labs stop after third year. Final year students does not have lab. Days in final year are rather chilled out.

Faculty

Some faculties are good while some are average and some others are bad. The good ones take really interesting classes. Attendance is compulsory so we don't have an option to skip the boring classes.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
