Remarks

I opted for B.com Programme. The admissions were merit based. I filled out only one form for all the courses I was willing to do. The form is available on the DU official website (du.ac.in). The form cost me around 1000. If you are from a reserved category then it can cost you even less. You need to form documents stating that you belong the this reserved category and attach the documents while filling the form and you will also need them at the time of admission. The admission process is simple. You just need to be attentive about all the cut offs otherwise you might lose a chance at your dream college. You just need proper documents and keep checking the portal. The documents needed are the 10th and 12th mark sheet, aadhar card, and if from the reserved category you need to have those documents also.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose B.com because I chose commerce in school and thought it might help me to gain more relevant knowledge. The course curriculum is almost similar to all the DU colleges. Faculties are very supportive with good knowledge most of them are PhDs. In Mata Sundri College Faculties are up to mark. If you attend their lectures and keep revising you can get good grades but remember that grades don't define your worth.

Internships Opportunities

2

There are so many internships available at placement cell. But they are unpaid most of the time. They have better opportunities for science students. And for other streams, there are opportunities but not similar to the things students expect.

Placement Experience

2

If you are in your final year you become eligible for the placements and from 1st year you can start doing internships. From 2021, the placement cell is really active. This year students got hired by Delloite. There are many startups, ed tech companies coming for internships and placements as well. But still, there is scope for better placements may be in near future we can have more MNC's coming to hire.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure can be a discussion. As compared to other DU colleges, Mata Sundri College For Women has relatively high fees. For 3 years in B.com Programme, it is 18500, 17000, 16500 respectively. It may vary depending on the course and which year you get admission. There is financial aid if you have documents stating that you belong to an economically weaker section and also these documents can help you issue books from the library on a long term basis.

Campus Life

4

Life is good in Mata Sundri College for women. Some may think that it is a women's college so it is boring and things don't happen here. Let me tell you that girls enjoy a lot as there are so many societies, functions and competitions happening regularly. In February fest happen and in the year 2020, we had the famous Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaj Ji. Classrooms and corridors are clean. Talking about the canteen, it is maybe one of those biggest canteens in DU colleges. There are so societies like for dance, gidda, illuminer counsel, bhangra etc. Books are easily available in the library you can easily issue them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
