Review of my College

In IEM KOLKATA you can take admission through jee mains and wbjee in B. Tech regular. I took admission through wbjee mode. In this college 80% seats are filled through wbjee mode and 10% seats are filled through jee mains mode and remaining 10% seats are filled through management quota and foreign student quota. WBJEE is a state entrance exam through which you can take admission in various colleges of west bengal (outsider students cannot take admission in government colleges of west bengal) in engineering and pharmacy courses. WBJEE held once in a year and usually nearly 2 lakh students register for exam. The question pattern and marks distribution you can check by visiting official wbjee website , apart good concept one thing is very important in wbjee exam is speed. In wbjee maths section have higher weightage than physics and chemistry sections. . If your concept are good then just solve PYQ's of wbjee you will excel in exam because in wbjee difficulty level is moderate.

As other engineering colleges in INDIA here also you have to handle assignment , projects , work load with some extra pressure. INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT is known for its discipline , so teachers are going to be strict.They cannot compromise with discipline at any cost , but here you will get lot of pressure because IEM has lot of extra subjects like ESP , SDP , DESIGN THINKING , ENTREPRENEURSHIP etc and along with these subjects you have to arrange lot of certificates for MAR and MOOC'S (it is applicable in all colleges who are affiliated to MAKAUT) , but these extra subjects are very interesting and useful. You will get lot of benefits from these extra subjects in future. Faculties are good , well qualified and disciplined .They will help you lot but they cannot compromise with discipline. Two mid-sem occurs between one semester . Exam department and invigilator are very strict . Any type of unfair means in May cancel your paper.

From 3rd year you are eligible for on-campus placement. Placement ratio is also good , 85-90% students get placement. Average placement lies between 5-6 lakhs. In majority service based company visit here. IEM is known for two things 1. Discipline and 2 . Placement

If you see the facilities offered by the college then the fee structure is justified. ROI is good for this college . 85-90% placement occurs in this college. Different types of scholarship and financial help are given to needy students.

It's campus size is small but it has lot of active clubs , student chapter and professional societies.You will get lot of opportunities to excel. Nearly all types of clubs are present here. You will get financial support in filing the patent at free of cost. Lots of industrial visit , various intership programme , start-up incentive policy , conference and journal incentive policy are some of the key features of this college
