Government College of Engineering & Textile Technology (GCETT), Berhampore was established in the year 1927. The college is located in Berhampur, West Bengal, and is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. At the UG level, the college offers B.Tech courses in 4 specializations with total of 130 seats. GCETT Berhampore offers M.Tech in Text Technology. The college also offers lateral entry admission in the second year of the B.Tech course. Students who wish to apply for B.Tech should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a board or university approved by the government of India. Admission to B.Tech is done on the basis of a valid score in WBJEE. Students who have passed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy with at least 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for Lateral Entry. In this college, you have got all categories of reservations.

In this college, the course curriculum of Computer Science and Engineering is very good. so, That's why choose this for pursuing my bachelor of technology degree and that was also my childhood dream. This college is under the university Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The faculty members of our college are very good, well qualified and very friendly. Their teaching methods are very good. We have good full-time faculty members for 40 students. Teaching quality is very good in this college, they teach very friendly and also easy methods.

One can apply for an internship in any company like TCS, Wipro based on his/her grades. The stipend is also good between 10 to 15 thousand. The projects are mainly about building web apps or websites, android apps. The companies were Jayashree textile, TCS, Vardhman textile, and the roles were quality control, spinning, dyeing worker, etc. The projects were of making fabric and dyeing it in a color and printing it with some designs and such like that.

The students are eligible from their 4th year for campus placements. Many reputed companies visit the college for hire. The highest package was 8 LPA to the best of my knowledge. At the end of the 4th year, 90% of students get placed. Apart from this, Companies like TCS, INFOSYS, SYNTEX, REYMOND, WELSPUN ETC visit this college every year to hire students.

In this college we have seen different fees structure according to their department for computer science and engineering the fees will be approximately 60,000 in 4 year BTech degree.in other departments, the fees will be very low approximately half of the computer science and engineering departments. There you will get Swami Vivekananda's merit cum means scholarship and you will be eligible to apply for any other private scholarship. In campus jobs a low number of students are selected, also they have the opportunity to sit on off-campus interviews for better placement.

Campus life is good. Here you can see the annual college fest and also Saraswati puja and another tech festival. in this college, you have a library with a good amount of books.in this college you have seen digital classes on the college campus there is a sports ground.
