At present the college is tier-3 with limited opportunities

This college accepts admission into the Bachelors of Engineering (4 year programme) only through the WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations) conducted every year by the WBJEEB. The process of applying and appearing for WBJEE is somewhat similar to that of JEE-Mains. I personally did not avail of any reservation benefits. During my admission, I did not face any major challenges.

I chose this course to look at future career opportunities. The faculty: student ratio is decent considering it is a tier 3 college. Some of the faculty members are highly educated while some are decent. Due to covid, examinations are regularly postponed.

Mostly 7th and 8th sem students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Byju's and various startups visit the campus every placement season. The highest package is around 14 LPA and the average package is around 4 to 5 LPA. Most students of CSE and IT get placed. Personally, my plans are to look for off-campus opportunities in my 7th and 8th semester.

The fee is not too high in comparison to some other tier 3 colleges in the region. The eligible students can always avail the benefits of Swami Vivekananda scholarships and the college is also supportive in such cases. Job opportunities are definitely present on campus but none of the premium companies visits. Also don't expect a very high package offer. But things are improving because of rigorous efforts by the placement cell.

My entire college life till now has been through online classes, so I am not qualified to talk much about fests and cultural activities. However, a large library is present for students' needs. On important festival days, events are held throughout the year.

Till now because of Covid, I've not experienced hostel life. The rooms mostly have two beds. Don't expect much from the college mess, you will get great options outside the college. After the confirmation of admission, if one requires a hostel, they can easily talk to the authorities and make arrangements. The hostel is also very affordable. Due to covid, my experience has only been online, so I don't have any PG experience.
