Remarks
The Course I did was BA. The admission was based on the cutoff list that gets realized everywhere for different courses. There was no entrance exam. The cutoff list in DU is different for different categories. For example, there is a separate cutoff list for general OBC Sports quota, etc. You have to apply for the college online/offline you wish to take admission in matching your 12% with the cutoff and then go to the college with the required documents. The fees were also very less as compared to other colleges
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty of the Motilal Nehru college are very knowledgeable and most of them have done Ph.D. and their teaching method is also very good. I did B. A program and had subjects like history, economics as discipline subjects. I had these two subjects throughout the 3Years. The other two exams were changed every semester. Exams were held twice a year. The marks were divided between externals and internals. Internals would include assignments. Externals were the written exams. Preparation leaves are given before exams. Professors of MLNC have teaching experience of many years in their respective subjects, especially History and Economics professors. Especially Dr. Kalpana a great history teacher. She is highly qualified and supportive.
Placement Experience
The placements are majorly for economics and B.Com students. The art students don't get a lot of opportunities for their placements. I did the B. A program and I couldn't get any placements from MNC's. For art students, the placements were not so good.
Fees and Financial Aid
The biggest advantage of studying At Delhi university is the Low fees as compared to other private colleges where you have to pay in lacs. The fees of my course( B.A program) were somewhere around 5000-7000 per year. Everything is included in this fee structure. But the fees are different for different courses. The jobs and placement of MLNC are not that great. The placement cell doesn't get good companies on board for recruitment. Especially for history students. For economics students and B.com students there used to come good companies for consultancy jobs but not for arts and science students.
Campus Life
Delhi University is famous for its cultural fests Every year MLNC organizes cultural festivals for 2 days Celebrities Bollywood singers, famous bands performing It was a great and fun experience. There are many clubs in MLNC they are very good especially the dramatics and Dance club which is Electraectra They have won many competitions Seminars and Workshops used to be held very frequently infrastructure of MLNC is also good They have basic amenities facilities like drinking water hygiene washroom stationery shop, photocopy there is an also a separate room for girls which is known as the girl's common room The library is huge which is filled with thousands of books We could issue any book as per our requirement anytime Classes are huge with wooden benches There is a block known as the j block where air-conditioned are installed in the classes. MLNC has a huge campus with lots of greenery
