Remarks

Outer view of the campus and the location was awesome. But the teaching quality and social life was a disaster. We got some nice classmates so the journey became memorable.

Entrance Preview

I got a rank of 20000+ in JEE. I choose the college for their long 20 years experience. They assured us for better faculties and also its bit closer to my home. there was no such interview process it was basically based on the jee rank. I choose EE as my subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course structure was not up to the mark. Faculties were continuously being changed. though we got some really good ones. the exam pattern of internals is just below the level. the language lab was least interesting to attract the students. So the HU labs were. Unnecessary rules and regulations was there which was not needed for a graduate level college. it felt like school.

Internships Opportunities

No internships are being provided for B.Tech. In fact they didn't provided us the industrial training thoroughly. Its not the kind of service we expected after paying approx 5 lakh.

Placement Experience

1

There was approx 65 students in our department. Hardly 10% of them were placed. Though we came to know that some of the companies were fake. the total no of department was 6. but the view was same for each departments. We were from Core department but we were being offered IT jobs. Rather i say BPO jobs. Wipro, reliance, TCS were the big names in placement. Though all were for BPO.

College Events

1.5

We hardly celebrated any event i remember. The fest and the freshers were very boring. Once we had a tech-fest that too was a flop. The cultural life was not up to the mark for students. As i think cultural programs are equally important for a student beside studies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its an expensive college. The normal fees for btech is appox 3 Lack. but we paid almost a total of 4.5 Lack. The fees were taken in semester basis in advance. There was a lot of unnecessary charges.Library charge was 6000/Sem where we were unable to get the proper books. The semester charges varied between 48000-5300/sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

Education loans were available. but i didn't availed. As it creates a pressure to pay the interest. Though some of my friend availed such loans.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio in our department was Boys: Girl: 12:1. whereas in Information Technology and Computer Science department it was almost 1:1. And for civil it was about 20:1. The campus life was avarage we bunked classes too. annual sports, fresher, fest were there though not very attracting. Labs were incomplete as not all equipment were available. no robotics debates were there.

Hostel Facilities

2

I was not a Hosteler. Though as i know the hostel charges were higher than other institutions. the food quality is just like street quality. romms are not properly cleaned. also no computer or laptop were provided. The rooms contained just a bed and a stu

Alumni/Alumna

We was the first batch of our college. Recently they are arranging for a alumni. The relationship with our juniors was awesome. This was a no ragging campus.

Exam Structure

The semesters were patterned as per West Bengal University of Technology rules. but the internals were totally disasters to evaluate a student. There were no fixed time for it and sometimes the no of internals also differed. VIVA voice and grand viva were

Faculties were continuously being changed. though we got some really good ones. They assured us for Jadavpur University faculties but it was just an empty promise. there were hardly 2-3 Ju faculties who lasted for a keen time. The new faculties between th

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a student of Computer Science Engineering and the curriculum prepares students of all branches for inter disciplinary courses, so that all branches have a basic idea of all branches of engineering in general. The curriculum stresses a lot on communication, social and personality development. There are regular lab classes and weekly assignments and tests to keep track of a student's progress. There are lots of extra and co curricular activities which enhance and add to the experience of a college student. The college follows the MAR point system proposed by MAKAUT, which includes and promotes a huge variety of this activities. In addition to this, the college has many clubs, the students of which participate actively in social activities like blood donation drive, marathon, cloth donation, self defence drive etc.

The placement of the college is average. During my time Cognizant and Infosys use to visit the campus and they hired many students. The ctc offered by the company was around Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum. Those who are unplaced need to apply off campus to other companies.
