Remarks

SPIT is a prime college that one should aim for if you are pursuing Engineering. Attendance is a issue(80%) but apart from that you will enjoy the life in SPIT.

Entrance Preview

All top students particularly aim for this college. I gave JEE exam to get into this college but now admission is based on the scores of MH-CET. I got 98.33 percentile in JEE. Scoring 180+ in MHCET is must to get in SPIT.Computer Engineering is the most reputed Branch of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college follows the Curriculum given by the Mumbai University.But various seminars and lectures are kept, so that students get well acquainted with the latest trends in technology. Many Research projects are undertaken by the Hod's which are of great help for students interested in research.

Internships Opportunities

Yes,the college does provide internships to students. also college has a incubation center on the 8th floor which incubates various start-ups.Students with startup ideas can work there. SPIT incubation center is one of the two incubation center in mumbai(Other in IIT bombay).Barclays,Credit Suisse, Microsoft and various other companies takes 3rd year students for summer internships.

Placement Experience

Placements are 100%,so no need to worry.Placements at this college are better than most of the colleges in Mumbai. The average package offered is around 6 to 6.5 lakhs. Companies such as Barclays, Microsoft, Capegemini, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, L&T, Credit Suisse, Zycus, TCS, etc. are major companies which hire students.

College Events

College has 3 Main Festivals. Matrix(Technical), Udaan(Cultural) and SPIRIT(sports). Matrix is celebrated in september-october month,Udaan is celebrated in February and SPIRIT in March. Each Festival is Celebrated with great enthusiasm. Different colleges take part in inter college events. Udaan and Matrix has a footfall of around 5000-7000 people. Udaan is very renowned fest among the engineering colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of the college is 1.3 lakhs. Being a top tier college of Mumbai and non-government funded this figures are quite normal. Still the Fees is on the expensive side. the fee structure for different categories is different,1.3 lakhs being the maximum fees(Open Category).

Fees and Financial Aid

Many Scholarships are provided by the college to the needy and outstanding students of the college. Tata scholarships,Narotam scholarships,Jain minority etc are few of them. For Ebc students there is a EBC scholarship Available. This Scholarships ranges from 50% to 100% of the Total fees paid. Loans Facilities are not available.

Campus Life

Gender Ratio in this college is quite good than other engineering colleges. The class of 60 comprises of 25 girls and 35 boys. The students from various location in mumbai take admission in SPIT which brings diversity in the form of thoughts and friends. Since the college is situated in Bhawans campus the campus life is pretty awesome. Every thing from food to temple to stationary are present inside the campus. Metro (azad nagar )is at walking distance making travelling easy for various students. Various extracurricular activities like DEBSOC, SPQC,FACE CUP,SPIT CUP are kept to encourage students to explore new dimensions outside technology fields.

Hostel Facilities

The college doesn't provide hostel services but students can apply for hostel facilities in SPCE hostel. Some rooms are reserved for SPIT students. The hostel and mess facilities of SPCE are quite good. Average accommodation+food charge comes around 40,000. SPJain Also provides mess facilities which are top notch, students usually prefer SPjains mess over SPCE's.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network of SPIT is very helpful. You can find People working in various Big companies like google,Microsoft. Alumni are called up to take seminars for the students which are quite helpful. Seniors students are too helpful. The reason why the life at SPIT is awesome is because everyone is ready to help. If you need help just ask you mentor or senior they will take some time out and solve your problems.

Exam Structure

Exam are carried out on regular basis. Assignments test are taken apart from midterm test which are really unnecessary. Labs Hours are well planned. The Labs are mainly kept in morning hours when you are fresh. Some Days when Labs might only contain lectures which will make the day very boring otherwise the day is pretty chilled out.

Faculty

Faculty at the college is knowledgeable. They are up to date with the latest trends and technology revolution. The faculty encourages you to try new technologies which are currently running in market. Many seminars and workshops are held apart from the regular studies to give the insight of what's going on in the industries. Alumni of the college takes seminar to make sure that students try for whatever is needed.
