Remarks

The admission process is based on the merit list. University first not take any entrance exam. You have to get a minimum of 45% marks in graduation to apply here. However seat capacity is very low. So minimum first class (above 60%) is needed to get admission here. I had chemistry in graduation but here I got a chance in biochemistry based on my merit list. You should apply for a different subject here. Even if you don't get the chance in the main subject you will get a chance in other subjects. The admission process is completely online. You have to fill the form with all the necessary documents. When they publish a merit list they will send messages and emails. If you appear on the merit list you have to pay the fee of Rs 5720 and then you need document verification on the very next day. The admission process is very fast. Those who live far away will face the problem of not having enough time. The reservation benefits are there for minority students

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I thought biochemistry might be a good subject for M.sc and I thought it will be a good subject to get a job in the technical field. We had 5 professors in the Biochemistry department and we had around 36 students so we had around one professor for 6-7 students. Our professors are very qualified. They have done a Ph.D. & won several awards in their field. They gave us all the study material needed in post-graduation. They are very willing to teach us practical so we understand the subject deeply. They did some audiovisual classes and organized several seminars both online & offline. We had one final exam every semester. You have to study a lot to pass & get good marks.

Fees and Financial Aid

The first time when we get admitted here the admission fee was Rs 5750. For the second semester, the admission fee was Rs 4250. For the third semester, the college fee was 6850 and for the last semester, the college fee was around 5500 Rs. So the total cost of study in 2 years is almost 20k-25k rs. It depends on the various courses. Course fee does increase slightly every year. University does not provide any financial assistance but we have many scholarships available. Some of the scholarships are Vikash Vaban Scholarship(SVMCM), Kanyahsree, OASIS, TATA, JINDAL, etc. No jobs are offered from the university campus

Campus Life

4

Many cultural and social programs are organized each year. Every winter a cultural function is organized by our university. Recitation, singing dancing, and many other activities happen there. Our classroom is very clean and well equipped with all kinds of modern facilities available. Our library room is very big and one of the best. It is well decorated organized with a colorful racking system. Books from all the departments are available there. We had many indoor and outdoor sports programs and an annual sports function is organized every winter. We have a student union group but they are very helpful.

Placement Experience:

Actually this is a general degree University , so I must mention that placement facalities are not so good. But yes , Job Fair is organised in University by some external agencies which offer jobs varying 2-2.5 lakhs per annum . But in the university most of the students do not accept that jobs. Half of the students are more interested on the higher studies. So ahet completing the fourth semester they prepare for PhD. And the another half are preparing for central government sponsored exams like CGL, CHSL, RRB, SBI , IBPS, LIC etc. University has a significant number of students who have qualified for Government Competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

From the 2nd last semester, that is the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. Last year, two of our seniors got placed at Reborn Child Development Centre (Durgapur and Asansol) with an average package of Rs 200,000. This year, three students of our batch, including me, got an internship for three months at Reborn through an in-person interview.
