Remarks

The admission process is somewhat hectic but it is purely based on student performance in jee mains entrance exam. The application form can be found on the institute website. Every minute detail of the application process is given clearly so as not to confuse the applicant.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculties are very overwhelming and supportive. They are extremely talented with excellent teaching quality. All teaching faculty are PhD's from various IITs. Faculty: student ratio will be 1:10 approximately because there will lot of teaching assistants .exams were timed correctly and if prepared it is easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are so good for students with good subject knowledge. The top companies which offered internships from our mechanical branch are tech Mahindra, Bajaj auto, siemens etc. stipend of 50-60 k are also given to the selected internship students.

Placement Experience

Placements are super. From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements.placement percentage is nearly 70%. The highest package offered is 30 LPA and the average is 7-8 LPA. The top companies visited in our mechanical branch are tech Mahindra, siemens, Bajaj auto etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is according to the income of a student. There will be a lot of scholarships available like a foundation for excellence, national scholarship which u can access anyone. Campus jobs are quite good.

Campus Life

Life is superb at nit Calicut. You will enjoy every minute you spend on the campus. There will be two fests conducted each year named tathva which is a tech fest and ragam which is a cultural fest. There will be a lot of clubs that you can join based on your interest list robotics, aero etc and also cultural clubs like dance club, literature club. Sports and extracurricular activities are excellent.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are quite good. Not air conditioned as college is government aided. Meal quality is very good as a lot of varieties will be available. Students from any part of India can be satisfied with the meals and menu.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
