Remarks

Hassle free admission. I got admission to 3rd counselling in the year 2017. And it is a very minimal process completed within 4 hrs. After admission, I joined college within 5 days and I am very happy. They have minimal fees on admission time.

Course Curriculum Overview

In our department, there are 11 faculties and our total number of students is 24 which means an almost 1:2 ratio. faculties are very helpful. they always help us a lot. Mainly all faculties had done their PhD in the respective course.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is very minimal and that is the main thing of a centre affiliated college. In examination time they charged only Rs. 300. On campus there is no scholarship available so you will only get a state govt scholarship.

Campus Life

Every year they organized a freshers party. We have 3 libraries one is a central library, another one is Bhavan library and lasts on is the departmental library. You can find every book that you need. Cricket is very famous on the campus.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.

A Peaceful, Culturally Rich Journey at Visva-Bharati University

I chose VBU over other colleges because of its peaceful campus, strong language programmes and unique academic environment inspired by Rabindranath tagore's vision. I had also applied to JNU and EFLU, but after careful comparison I found VBU more aligned with my learning style and personal goals. The UNIVERSITY offers a more focused and supportive setting with smaller class sizes and close student-teacher interaction which is ideal for studying a language like Japanese. The admission process was conducted through the CUET( COMMON UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST) . The eligibilty was 10+2 with a valid CUET score. For Japanese VBU considers marks of either ENGLISH or GENERAL TEST whichever you get higher marks in.
