Entrance Preview

Joint Entrance Test, My rank was around 500~600. I chose this college due to two reason, one is near to home as i was living in the Chandigarh only secondly this college was amongst top diploma colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was very good. There was good theoretical & practical knowledge building sessions. Periods were planned in such a manner that good focus is given on the theoretical & practical knowledge. Attendance & assignments were given good focus & attention.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, but i have never opted for it as i was selected in the campus placement. In fact all students were selected in the various companies & no one was left without selected.

Placement Experience

5

Placements & job opportunities were best at that moment in 2004. During that period even seniors were called for the placements if not working. During our placements we have got opportunities in TVS 2 Wheelers, ACC Cement, Timex watches Ltd.

College Events

4.5

Annual sports day was celebrated on the each year with the full enthusiasm. Cultural events were also planned on the annual basis to have focus on the Extra curricular. We had very good NCC team & good opportunities for the students for their development.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very very economical as this is a govt college. Even the students with good results being awarded with the partial or full refund of the tuition fee paid on the semester basis. In fact NCC was also available for the all students for free.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was very good as the behaviour of the teachers with the students was very very frank. Gender ratio is always a concern in most engineering colleges in Diploma wing in 2001-2004 batch , except architect & science gender ratio was into the fraction.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Area given for the students Hostel was very good but the basic infrastructure in the hostel was average. Both Men & Women hostel was almost same in facilities. Hostel guardian was very very strict for the students for maintaining discipline. Ragging in the hostel was at extreme during 2001 & 2004, all freshers were forced to make the assignments of the seniors.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of CCET were spread all around & group of alumni is meeting in the college campus in the frequent intervals.

Exam Structure

Exams were conducted with very peaceful manner. Big hall was used for the exams for the better sitting for the students & to maintain proper distance in between students. Group of teachers was available in the hall to maintain discipline & to resolve queries in case required.

Admission

I had given Joint Entrance Test & My rank was around 500-600. We were called for the counselling at the Khooni Majra location & admissions were given with respect to the ranks scored in the entrance test. We have gone through the process of documents verification & later on admissions were given based on the individual rank scored & seats availability in the various colleges.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college was very good. We had mix of Young & senior faculty & overall leaning from them was a very good experience. They have very good theoretical & practical knowledge. Even they had very good focus on the individual development & learning.

Companies like Fanuc, EPL, Mexico, moderate, Hawkins, have are visited and packages of 3.5 lakhs are provided by these companies. About 90% of students are placed every year during campus placements. I want to do a job in BHEL.

Remarks:

For more practical knowledge, Under the name of central govt. Moreover a well known research centre Placements are very good from this institute. There are only two streams mechanical and electronics. which are futher divided into mechanical (3yr- tools nd die, 4 yr- die and mould) Electronics (3yr- electronics ,4 yr - mechatronics),According to me there is just one disadvantage for 12 pass students that after completion of studies you will get diploma not a degree. , which is somehow i think is a negative point
