Entrance Preview
There was an entrance exam for B.Sc Chemistry Hons graduates. I has score rank 10!!! It was purely based on merit.
Course Curriculum Overview
We used to get complete access of Library. There were 2 libraries, one was Central Library and another was Dept. Library. All the Projects & Periodical was there in Dept. Library for easy access. Also sometime professors used to help us on Study material.
Internships Opportunities
We did the Internship but there was no Stipend. It was all about learning the subject during that Internship. We used to get those by Seniors recommendations / Professors recommendations. We have those sessions during Summer Vacation, post completion of 4th Semester.
Placement Experience
During our time Job Placement was not much great. There was lot of IT companies came and some of our friends gone there as well. But core companies not came. Average package was 15K per month during 2005. We have got few companies like Pepsico, Coke, Britannia etc.
College Events
We used to celebrate our days without any worries, there were Cultural Fest and I assume that was the Best Fest on that time. Also Sports were an Integral part of our college days be it Football or Cricket. Students used to manage all these Fests and Events and I remember all best Music Bands used to come & play on those events.
Fees and Financial Aid
Lot of Scholarships available at our time on basis of merit and Projects. It was fair selection of those candidates by professors. All the Scholarships was monitored by a team of professors. There was a continuous evaluation of Merits and based on those recommendations used to go from professors.
Campus Life
During those days lot of events used to take place. Debates was one of our favourite events and we used to bring speakers from all the renowned institutes. Also Gender ratio was quite good Male : Female was 10:8. Also Inclusion of every culture one of the best experience in JU.
Exam Structure
During those days it was compact day for us stating from 8.45 am to 5.15 pm. It was great experience to learn all those subject in a detailed way along with practical. We also used to play during off periods and Professors were quite supportive on those days. I remember we used to change class timing during Cricket Area.
Admission
It was written exam of 2 hours and based on B.Sc Syllabus. The eligibility criteria was B.SC Chemistry Hons graduation. the notification used to come on Newspaper that time. Post that Buying Forms and submission. The Process was superb , be it submission of Forms or exam.
Faculty
Food Tech Faculty was Best in Class. Also their knowledge on subject was on different level. Also we have got a very good guidance from different departments like Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science. Also the Evaluation process was very good. All the professors used to encourage students to learn the subject.
