Souvik Pal's Review On Netaji Subhash Engineering College - [NSEC], Kolkata

Get admission through WBJEE. My rank was 3411. I expected a quality of study as per my rank and get a good campusing.

The course was very much well structured. In first year every student has to learn some basic subjects, then only they diversify their course to the selected one. After completing one year, one student also could change their department based on their result.

Our college arranges some internship. But we never get paid. I don't know about now. Experience was nice.

It was pretty nice. But they arrange mostly pool campussing under techno india group. Several companies came there. As for example : Tata Consultancy Services, Accenture, Capgemini, AMD etc. Package was 3-9 la(approx. if i consider all company). More than 80 % students were placed.

There were several shows which was organised by the authorities with the help of student. Those are Fresher, College Fest(Song, Dance and Fashion show, Band performance), Football Tournament (Department wise), Cricket Tournament (Department wise), Technical Fest(Several technical events and computer games), Robotics.

My college year was 2007-2011. As of that time it was around Rs. 27250 per semester and the admission fees was 15000. Also we needed to pay the examination fee. That was around Rs.800. I forget that has been increased later or not. So all total in 4 years: Rs 2,25000 to 230000.

Campus life was pretty cool. You could state your opinion anywhere. We had a technical club named as pheonix. From that group mainly the technical event comes out every year. That is known as tech fest. SO debates and robotics were there. About the gender ration, I could say there were no biased decision. All the activities usually get 60 % boy and 40 % girl approx, if I am taking it as of 2011.

Yes those programs are nice. Every year they arrange for a meet of the alumnus. That is a very good get together for the juniors and seniors and the teachers.

We had 4 years course. There was 8 semester in 4 years. Each year two semesters. Apart from that we had some internal exams. In semester exam we had written and oral examination. We did not have any number system to pass on. We had gradation system.

My rank was 3411 in WBJEE. After that the selection procedure was held in Sarat Sadan, Howrah. Every student selected their college as per availability. Once my turn came. I had several of options.

The faculty standard was pretty good. They were very much qualified and had that ability to make a friendship with student and make the course easier to you. Also, not only the course, they made our life simpler by encouraging us in every aspect. They always help for study as well as personal problem.
