Remarks

I have secured AIR -290 in wbjee in 2020. As I am from Jharkhand so I have got EE in Jadavpur University. The closing Rank for EE that year was 370. I didn't have any quota, I am, general category student. I have also qualified for Jee Mains and Jee Advanced but didn't achieve a good rank as in Wbjee. Jadavpur University provides its students with various opportunities at low fees. I have done my counselling through online mode.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have an interest in Electrical Engineering that's why I am pursuing this course. The faculty student ratio is good around 1:9. All the faculty are well qualified as well as educated. Maximum has more than 15 years of experience, but teaching techniques are not that good. Exam is held regularly but results are always delayed.

Internships Opportunities

I have not even gone for an internship till now but a lot of big companies come to my college for internships. Maximum students also got PPO during their internship programme. Different companies provide different posts for internships. For example, Amazon provides the post of software developer, etc. In the same way, different companies provide different posts.

Placement Experience

Generally from 3rd year students are eligible for placement, I think, I am not that confident about it. But placements in Jadavpur University is tremendous which even compare IITs. There were more than 100 companies visited here. Some companies include AMAZON, MICROSOFT, GAIL, ONGC, etc. The average package of EE is Around 11 LPA. And highest is 43 LPA this year while previous year this was 65 LPA. Almost 90 percentage people get campus placement in our college. I have not decided what to do in future and am always eager to go into the research field or social worker field.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is 11000 for 4 years. There are also various scholarships for economically weaker students. Mess and hostel fees are also very less. There were not many hostels so all the students will not be able to get hostels. Those who don't have to take a PG outside. Hostels availability depends on the income and how far is your house from college.

Campus Life

I have not gone to campus many times, I have gone there only once during physical verification. There were various clubs here which includes studies as well as sports. There is a huge Library which consists of lots of books. Services are also good there.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

The placement of the college is not that much which I expected but not also very bad the highest package of the college is around 51 lack and the average package is like 11-12 lack and the median of the college is 10 lack pretty much good and placement percent is around 88 percent of students placed every year

Not an Ideal college for campus Life

Placement Experience:

Campus Placements starts after 6th semester and majorily mass recruiters visit the campus and there are more opportunities for the cor branchs as compared to the non core because of the presence of many industries in the nearby areas.For this year, 12lpa is the highest placement in Commvault but the total placement is only around 50-60%, so my plan is to try getting off campus opportunities by the end of my 3rd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
