Yukti Khanna's Review On Lady Irwin College, New Delhi

I had done B.ed from lady Irwin college and cleared it's entrance exam. I want to do b.ed as I was very passionate about teaching. I loved to spread knowledge in students and want the students learn not only from books but learn by doing it.

At my time it was good . They focus on creativity, learning by doing, exposure to practical work , less theoretical.basically they more emphasized on research work not only google or computerised knowledge but we visited many areas and places to know about are research work . We gave many presentations and also got guidance side by side.

Yes, my college provided internship but there are no stipend only learning was there and I loved it. My internship was in Queen's Mary school and it was for 3 months . I almost taught 70 students in a class in practical way . In our teaching practice books are not allowed to be open on students desk and we have to teach them with experience, experiments and many other ways .

Almost all events are celebrated like diwali mela, eid, baisakhi, holi, Christmas, lohri, pongal . Every festival was celebrated at a grand scale. Students dress up according to the occasions. Food was prepared according to them. Even small gifts was there on Christmas .

The fee structure was feasible as it was a government college and we had to pay the fees in 2 instalments. First instalment was around 19000 and the second instalment was around 3500 . College also provide scholarship to the students who need it.

Yes I got scholarship for highest marks in pedagogy of science. There are many other scholarships also which are provided to the students who are in need. Many students were also provided with many scholarship according to the needs .

Exams and labs were were good during exams . Every teacher and lab staff are very supportive and helpful during and after exams. After exams it was very chilled out for us but before exams it was always a hectic for us but at the end it always goes well . Teachers also very supportive during exams and even after the exams.

Faculty is highly qualified from h.o.d to every single teacher . Some have done p.HD and almost every teacher has done m.ed . So teachers have goods knowledge about the subjects and also they have a very good practical knowledge to .As teachers guides us very nicely whenever we need them.
