A review of Tezpur University

I was attracted to Tezpur University because of the best academic facilities it provides. To apply for the program attaining a score of 45% in graduation is must along with getting good scores in TUEE. TUEE is the entrance exam organized by the university itself and the final selection is based on this exam. This exam is national level exam held in an offline mode and is of 90 minutes. I applied for my course by visiting the campus only where I filled the form and paid the application fees of Rs 800.

I wanted to become a professor of English Literature which is why I opted for this course. The course curriculum is very good and gives an in depth knowledge of literature. Faculty here is very open to students for assistance. Most of the faculty members are alumni of the college itself like Madhumita Ma'am. The level of the exams is average.

Acquiring a degree from university like Tezpur University is in itself a great benefit. We are given more preference. The students after this degree either prepare for UGC NET or do PhD or become a professor in some renowned university. I am currently working as an assistant professor at a university in Delhi.

I paid Rs 33,000 as my fees which is very less. Students get many scholarship options like PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single girl child, DBT scholarship, UGC merit scholarship for University rank holders, etc.

The campus is surrounded by greenery giving it a fresh feel. It gives a feeling of home. For a sports lover like me there are facilities of football ground, cricket, badminton, swimming pool, volleyball, etc. We have NCC, sports, different clubs that can be included in the section of extracurricular activities. The central library is very big having all books, thesis and journals for our reference. TechXetra is the annual fest of our college organized in October which is a blend of technical, management and cultural events.

Hostel facilities are good and there are lots of seats in the hostel. In total we have 12 hostels in which 7 are for girls and 5 for boys.My hostel room was twin sharing and was quite spacious with the basic necessities. We have common room, clean and hygienic bathrooms with washing machine, canteen, parking area, 24*7 security, etc. The mess facility is good where hygienic and good food is served. There are two kitchens one is the main kitchen where hostel food is prepared and the other is for students. The staff of the hostel is also good.
