Kamala Nehru College- A Comprehensive Review

I had applied to Ambedkar University as it was my first choice for pursuing Psychology Hons but couldn't make it because of one percentage of marks. In the meantime, I had also applied to Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University and made it on their first cut off list. I didn't avail any quota for my admission. For Bachelors of Arts, there was a cut off list based on the examination marks of class 12. The admission process was very smooth but a little lengthy. It took me 2 days to complete my admission process, but even during that, everyone was very helpful and calm.

I primarily chose this course (Psychology and Human Resource Management) because my interest area lies in the field of psychology and Kamala Nehru College is known for its psychology programme. The faculty is quite good and supportive. They teach quite well but sometimes, because psychology is only one of your main disciplines, they only stick to the course content and don't go beyond that, which personally I felt can be improved. Other than that, the faculty is very qualified and the study material provided is quite comprehensive. The examinations are held every semester( May-June and November- December) and are done in a very systematic manner. The question papers are very easy and one can easily score well if they study thoroughly.

Companies like Zomato, Paytm, The Economic Times, Wipro, Nestle provide good campus placements and internships opportunities in our college through our placement cell. Not all the companies provide stipends and that I feel is exploitation, but a lot of them do provide good stipends. Our college placement cell can do a little better in finding some better companies.

Students become eligible for campus placements during their third year and our college placement cell provides a lot of good opportunities. We also have our annual internship fest were a variety of companies come to hire students are interns. In terms of campus placements, the highest package that I have seen is 7-8 LPA which is quite good for freshers. A lot of students get their first job through campus placements with a pretty good pay package.

Considering the fact that it is a government college, the fee structure is very affordable. My fee every year was nine thousand only. But for other courses, it is a little bit higher than this. There is financial assistance for students from economically weaker sections as well. The placement cell of our college is quite good and provides a lot of amazing opportunities for internships as well as campus placements with some pretty good packages.

The best part about Kamala Nehru is it's campus life. From Chaupal to foyer, it's hard to describe any one place as the best place in the college. Our college is full of greenery and that is something that i loved about my college. We have our annual college fest Ullas, which is always amazing. Throughout the year there are departmental fests and other society fests that happen and keep the hype throughout. The library is the best and has every book that you will ever need in your three years of college life. We have a lot of societies and to join any one of the auditions are held every year as the new batch commences.
