Remarks
At the admission time, I had chosen many colleges which are situated in West Bengal. I had chosen in the first number in my list Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College (Now, Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex) because it's situated in Dum Dum railway station and also metro station. It's all about near me. This college is one of the top among the 30 institutions in West Bengal and also the best college in Eastern Kolkata. You can apply for the Diploma Engineering after 10th class directly through the management quota. You have just 55% marks. You can also apply through the Jexpo Polytechnic exam. Your rank must have under 55000. Here is a 45 seat reserve for Jexpo students. The admission process is very simple. After counseling, You have to be taken the following documents- Class 10th result, Jexpo admit card, Jexpo rank card, Aadhaar card, Demand draft, Some copies of the photo.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen this course because I am very much interested in Automotive and wanted to know different types of vehicles and it's technology and develop it. That's why I have chosen Automobile Engineering as my career. Our teachers are always helpful and supportive and they are qualified to the best. Our professors are extremely knowledgeable and they provide quality teaching and quality guidance to all the students of our college. The faculty-student ratio is near about 1:20. In this corona pandemic, Exams are taken LMS portal which has built by the JIS Group. The internal exams are taken on a regular basis and the slot Test is conducted twice each semester. Those who take classes continuously, pass easily.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides various Internship Opportunities from INTERNSHALA along with that, and the other opportunities also available in AICTE-TULIP Portal. We get lots of projects and also submit this. We are also taken for industrial visits in the fifth and sixth semesters.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placement from six semesters onwards. A lot of companies visit our college as we have a tie-up with Hyundai, we get placement from there also. The other companies conducting Placement Drive are TATA AIG, TOUJOURS PEITUS, REPOSE ENERGY, CHEGG INDIA, BYJUS. The average percentage of placement is near about 75-80%. After getting the Diploma degree, I want to complete B.Tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees have not enough compared to the other Institutes. Diploma (through counselling) under 1,00,000. Diploma (TFW) (through counselling) under 50,000 Diploma (other than counselling) 1,35,000 B.Tech under 4,00,000 B.tech(TFW) near about 67,300 B.tech (Lateral Entry) under 3,00,000 Comparing to the location, the fees are quite ok because the college located in Dum Dum, access to transportation is very easy here. There are some government scholarships available as Swami Vivekananda Merit- Cum-Means Scholarship, Aikyashree Scholarship by West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation. I got the Aikyashree Scholarship. Oasis scholarship is also available to the reserve category students.
