I wrote IPMAT to get into IPM at IIM INDORE our scores were kept confidential this year i had written it last year as well i am a repeater.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very nice. It's a well planned course which aims at the holistic development of an individual. We have many interesting courses like Philosophy, Sociology, along with the core courses like Statistics Economics and all. We also have to choose a foreign language as well.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, they do provide us with 2 internships. I personally haven't taken an internship yet, but, my seniors have told that it's a wonderful experience and given them much needed industry exposure. The stipends are also quite good. We are allowed to do internships in foreign countries as well.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are very good the average placements for the first batch was in double digits (LPA) which is a very good sign and the highest salary was around 32LPA there were many foreign recruites as well. As time passes, the placement statistics should improve.
College Events
We have a lot of fests and various other reasons to celebrate. We have a Literary and Cultural Fest called ATHARV. We also have a sports fest called Ranbhoomi. We also have management fests of the PGPs and many more. The pro nights after every fest is amazing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course is a bit expensive it costs more than 30Lakhs for 5 years when all expenses are factored in. However the return on investment is very high with respect to fields like engineering. Fess has to be paid in installments every year. The first 3 years cost around 13 Lakhs and the last two years is standard PGP costs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there is a scheme called Need Based Financial assistance to help people who are financially backward. Loans are provided by certain banks and a good interest.
Campus Life
Campus life is excellent out of a batch of 120 students, around 43 are girls which is a very good ratio compared to Engg colleges. Sports are also top notch with almost every sport available. From tennis to squash to an Olympic size pool, we have it all.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are excellent. This year, we got individual rooms unlike last year where they got triple sharing accommodation. Each room is spacious and we are provide with a bed and mattress, a big study table, a chair and a wardrobe. We also have dedicated LAN ports which have 24/7 internet access.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are like our lifelines they help us out a lot they make us feel at home and are very friendly they send us last year's question papers, reading materials and help us out in general too.
Exam Structure
The exams aren't very tiring we have a mid terms and end terms as standard over each term which is around 3 months long. In between there are quizzes as well. Some subjects also have surprise quizzes and these can be challenging as some times we are given only a 3 hour notice before the exams.
Admission
To get Admission, one needs to clear the Aptitude test and the Personal Interview which hold a weight age of 60-40 respectively. The Aptitude test this year consisted mainly of maths and a bit of Mental ability as well. Probability was given importance in the test. There were many fundamental concepts also which were tested out in the exam.
Faculty
The faculty is very nice most of them are IIM graduates and many from IIM A and IIM B. They are very helpful and knowledgeable in their fields. Their teaching methods are also engaging and their classes are very liked. They are very approachable and understanding.
