Remarks

As a young student, I wanted to pursue management given my commerce background and a keen interest in finance and marketing. I have had the intention of getting into an IIM. The course at Indore offered a chance for the overall holistic development of a person, with courses across various areas of specialisation. The admission process for me was a simple IPMAT followed by an Interview by a panel of 3 members. The exam consisted of one's Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Ability and Language skills. The interview was based on my resume and general experience. This course offers you a chance to learn a lot of things in a concise period of time. Hence the learning curve is very, very steep. But for this, you do have to pay a very high price. On the overall Cost-Benefit level, it is a course worth the money we pay. As an MBA candidate since your school days, you get to know a lot about things and a lot of exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course at IPM is a diversified one with fields of Maths, Stats, Economics, Communication, Information Systems and Liberal Arts taught to students. The overall idea is to expose them to the overall holistic development of the student. The student-teacher ratio is about 65:1 for core courses and about 40:1 for specific electives in the last year. The faculty of the college is highly qualified, with great experiences and credentials in their respective fields. they have brilliant research aspects where even students can contribute to and have themselves published. The exams are tough and need the effort to score high on them. But if you wanna pass, you can do it by simply sitting in class and listen. Exams are scheduled well with considerations for students who may have problems with the dates.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There were about 150 companies which came for various roles across, Consulting, Finance, Operations and S&M. The average stipend increased to about Rs. 100000 for 2 months. The overall stipend was low for companies and startups which came late.

Placement Experience

3.5

In IPM we have social placements starting from Term 7. In PGP, summers start in Term 1 end, while Finals start in Term 6 of PGP. 160 companies came for placements for the 2018-2020 batch. 23.3% were in finance and 23% in Sales & Marketing. The average salary was Rs. 22.92 Lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

At my time of admission in 2016, the fee structure was about 370000 per year. Now it is about 400000 per annum including Tuition, Hostel and Mess charge. Clothing and other expenses are different which involve casual dining and trips which students can make. Supplies are also not included in it. We have a Need-Based Financial Assistance for the economically backwards students and have the advantage to get the Loan amounts or Interest payments being fully made by the college given you get through the scrutiny of the documents. Apart from NBFA, we have a lot of scholarships which are offered from state and central govt. for specific students who have domiciles in the respective states, or belong to a certain community.

Campus Life

5

Life at Planet-I is great. You will never be bored because of the lovely campus and great people. The library on campus is great with brilliant online resources and databases for the references by the students for their projects. Classrooms are well equipped with high tech projectors and allow a great way of communication between the participants.

Hostel Facilities

5

We have really well-maintained Student residences and have good housekeeping which keeps good care of them for us. The students are also responsible for taking care of the same. The mess is a contract based company which provides various types of meals to all kinds of programme students.

Interview Experience

5

I only had a PI with a panel of 3 members at a centre in Delhi. The overall idea for the interview was to judge me on the parameters of my School subjects and interests. The panel was trying to find if I will be the right fit for a corporate in the long run. You need to be sure about your future hopes in your life. The student needs to display the qualities of a good person with honesty and sincerity in them to have corporates needing such participants for their benefit.

Students are offered PPOs post their summer internship in some cases but a majority of the bulk is placed during the final placement sessions during the 3rd trimester of the final year of MBA. Starts with lateral placements and continues for about 25-30 days until the last people are assisted in placements by the placement committee.
