The candidate should have a minimum of 60% in classes X & XII to be eligible to apply. The candidate satisfying the eligibility criteria will be called for the Aptitude Test. Based on the aptitude test's cut-off marks, the candidate will be called for the Written Ability Test & Personal Interview. After this, the final selection list is released.

I opted for this course as the IPM curriculum exposes you to diverse disciplines ranging from analytical subjects like Statistics and Economics to courses in Humanities & Social Sciences courses like Psychology, Political Science, and even Fine Arts. The faculty-student ratio is quite good as there are only 150 students enrolled in the programme. The faculty is highly qualified, most of them have done PHD's and their pedagogy is up to the global standards. It's a very hectic course, there is a trimester system, and exams are quite frequent, but you will get used to it. The difficulty of the exam depends on the faculty, and there is relative grading.

The college placements are 100%, and it is at par with the PGP students. In fact, the highest package of 56.8 lacs was offered to an IPM student while the average package of 18 lacs. IPM students are generally preferred for the finance roles.

For the first three years, the fee is 4 lacs per annum, and the hostel and mess fees are included. The last 2 years fee is equivalent to the PGP fee, which is 16 lacs. There is Need-Based Financial Assistance for the eligible students. Also, you will get an instant loan for the programme through several banks which come on campus. I received an offer of 22 lacs per annum in my final placements.

There are two annual fests, Atharv, a cultural fest conducted around September/October, and Ranbhoomi, a sports fest conducted around January. IIM Indore learning centre has state of the art facilities where you will get almost every book you require. The classrooms and other infrastructures are up to global standards. The sports infrastructure is world-class, containing an Olympic size swimming pool, squash court, cricket stadium, two gymnasiums, etc. There are various committees, clubs, special interest groups for students.

Living in the hostel is mandatory. Students will get a sharing room (3 people per room) for the first three years, and single room accommodation will be provided for the last two years. The quality of the hostel rooms is quite good equipped with all the basic amenities. Mess facilities are fairly good.

For me, first, there was an Aptitude Test followed by a Personal Interview, but now they conduct a Written Ability Test as well. It is quite the same as the CAT process, so the preparation is also similar.
