Remarks
I had always wanted to get my postgraduate degree from one of the IIMs, therefore I chose the IIM. The NIRF awarded IIM Indore 10th position in the year of my admission. I applied for the program after I registered for the CAT exam. I had not paid any more fees in addition to the application price. There were generally three steps covered at the time of my admittance. They examined my CAT score, which was also specified as a minimum eligibility condition, in the first stage. I was shortlisted for the written ability test (WAT) and the personal interview at the following round (PI). The final composite score of all candidates was taken into account in the final selection phase.
Course Curriculum Overview
In this two-year full-time degree, we had both core and optional classes. Finance, marketing, operational management, strategic management, economics, and other topics were covered in depth in the core courses. International Finance, Modern Econometrics, Economics of Strategic Interactions, Macroeconomics for Developing Economies, and other topics were part of my elective paper. Practical abilities such as business communication, critical thinking, spreadsheet modeling, design-thinking, and leadership were developed through the skill development classes. We had a lot of great visiting faculty members in addition to our full-time faculty. We participated in group discussions, special seminars, presentations, case studies, and projects, as well as the Rural Engagement Program, Experiential Learning, and other activities.
Placement Experience
HDFC Bank, PWC, Deloitte, BCG, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase, American Express, ITC, and others were among the major recruiters in our final placement program. In our final placement program, the highest compensation package provided was Rs. 40.5 LPA, with an average income of Rs. 20.79 LPA. With a salary of Rs. 1.24 lacs, I was able to complete my internship with PWC. I didn't take part in the final placement program because I wanted to focus on studying for the civil service test.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid Rs. 10,00,000 for the academic fees for the whole course. As for the additional fees, I paid some refundable caution fees along with the mess deposit. There was need-based financial assistance available for us. Though I had not applied for any financial assistance, some of my close friends took the benefits from this scheme.
Campus Life
I was a member of the student consulting club, which provided opportunities for us to engage in national consulting events, live projects, workshops, and other activities. I was also a part of the vibrations interest club. Our managerial and culture festival was called 'IRIS.' In the learning center, we had access to a variety of learning resources. In the year 2018, we witnessed the 'Ranbhoomi' sporting event, which was a large-scale sporting event.
Interview Experience
At the time of my admission, there were three stages included. In the first stage, they checked my CAT score which was also mentioned as minimum eligibility criteria. In the next stage, I was shortlisted in the written ability test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). In the final selection round, they took into consideration the final composite score consisting of the academic score, CAT score, WAT score, and PI score. I kept myself updated regarding all current affairs through newspapers and used to read news through in shorts and livemint app.
