Remarks
There is an Entrance exam for B.Ed and the admission happens by the merit system. If one's name comes up on the merit list, they receive a call from the college. I scored about 70% marks and my name came in the 4th list and I did not avail any quota to get admitted.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I have always wanted to become a teacher. The faculty: student ratio in this course is 1:10. Most of the teachers in this course have Doctorates. Others are in the process of completing their doctorates but are still highly competent and impressive. They teach mostly by lecture method. B.Ed is a course with an annual system. So main exams happen only once a year. But throughout the year, several activities and assignments are given. The exams are quite challenging, they will require you to study in depth and be on point.
Internships Opportunities
Most of the courses do not really provide internships. But, as far as Bachelor of Education is concerned, they provide internship twice to each student during the 2 year tenure. During the first year, students go to a government school and observe how their seniors teach there. This is done for 1-4 weeks. During the second year, students themselves go and teach in a government school for about 6 months. They have to go to college only once a week then. No stipend is provided.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees are about Rs 22,000. Students from minority communities or low-income background can avail scholarships. The college also provides for laptops. I haven't worked on this campus or applied for a job here, but everyone is paid well - from lecturers who have doctorates to assistant professors to administration workers and definitely the peons.
Campus Life
The Annual fest - Quintessence is the best time of the year. It happens in February. The college is known for its Annual Cultural fest. The college takes credits for inviting the best artists from all over the country - From actors to musicians and stand-up comedians, Ayushmann Khurrana and Mohit Chauhan to name a few. The library is full of study material. you name a topic and you'll have study material for it. The library is very well organized and even the library staff is super competent. The classrooms are spacious and airy. Electricity has also never posed a problem. There are several societies in the college, namely Nrityanjali - Dance, Makhuata - Dramatics, Prophecy - Fashion, Sports, Eco-Club and many others. All the societies hold competitions during the cultural festival.
