Remarks

Obviously good. Great campus. Great facilities. You will miss this college after passing out. The only -ve point is though there is a student council, they are selected by the University administration themselves.

Entrance Preview

It was AIEEE. I opted for this college, as it was one of the fastest developing educational institution of our times(back in 2011). Also, it is a central University and students from all parts of India are here.

Internships Opportunities

No companies come to offer stipend in B. Tech. we applied for summer internship in BARC(under Dept of Atomic Enegry) and we got selected for a month long program. Similarly other classmates also did their internships in some of the premier organisations of the country.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are decent. Not great. But its a very new institution, ( univeristy is old, but Engg Dept is just 9 yrs old now). Still there have been good placements from first year itself. Even Pool Campusing happens sometimes. Students are offered best in market packages.

College Events

4.5

Many events to list out. Right from Annual Sports day to Bihu Festival, from freshers to food festival. But the biggest one is Techxetra, the annual techno cum Management festival. Its held at national level, and students from all parts of India participate. The footfall and the number of sponsors have been increasing over the years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are quite reasonable. It being a central govt institute, funds come from govt. So fees are not that high compared to private institutes. Mess fee is extra.

Fees and Financial Aid

All major scholarships offered by Govt of India and Govt of Assam (for students from Assam) can be availed. Not sure of other state scholarships.

Campus Life

5

Ragging free campus, state of the art auditorium, 3-4 eateries inside the campus, shopping complex, indoor stadium, cricket and football grounds, tennis and basketball courts, what do you want more?Robotics events are part of techxetra, though there is an exclusive robotics teamDebates and Quiz competitions is a culture in TU. Every month, some or the other competition comes up.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are excellent. You have to visit there to believe me. Its better than some of the IITs, that too at a very affordable price. Mess food, depends on hostel to hostel and also varies every month. Students run the mess. Every month new mess

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful. No one faces ragging here. Though it depends on person to person, overall they are helpful. Even after passing out, seniors are helping. Great alumnis Spreading slowly and gradually.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very much similar to other colleges. Continuous evaluation happens. So from class test (twice in a sem) to mid term to End term, everything counts. Initially it was a bit hectic, as there were more subjects, but gradually it was ok. As m

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was very helpful in all matters. Relative grading is followed here. Classes are from 9-5 initially and then 9-4. The best part of the college is the teacher to student ratio. Every teacher knows you. Its not like any private college with 1000s

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
