Remarks

I applied to SGTB Khalsa College. My category is general. Admission criteria were merit-based and the cut off for different category was different. Being Khalsa College, the college has a Sikh quota also. There was no age limit as such but the marksheet was 12th board was valid for a particular period of time. The admission procedure is very simple and we are guided in the college by the staffs and we are asked some basics questions and then we are good to attend the college. We can upgrade ourselves to better colleges in nth cut-offs in DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course BSc (prog) Life Sciences includes Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry as Main Papers and in additional papers like GE/SEC/DSC, we get informative papers also. The faculty-to-student ratio would be 1:4. The teachers are very qualified i.e, PhD and they teach us very well. In offline classes they first used to make us understand the basics and then give us the material whereas in online classes we are taught will the help of PDFs with proper explanation. The term exams took place at the end of the semester timely as scheduled and it was easy to pass. We can score good marks also if we pay attention in the class.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There is a society of college students in the college, called Ignite, that provide as with the knowledge of internship opportunities of different companies with all the details like stipend, seat limit, no. of months, etc.

Placement Experience

2

Campus Placement is for commerce background students. Many companies visit and a no of offers and they have a nice package as far as I know. Many students get placed in companies. I don't have much knowledge regarding it. My plan is to go for Masters's after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't get a scholarship as I didn't apply for any. No Financial Assistance as well because this EWS category is required. I am a final-year college student without a job as I didn't apply for one.

Campus Life

3

In Feb the college fest is conducted and that is undoubtedly amazing. The library is very big with a lot a of books available there, but each student can't get every book as each book has 3-4 copies only. The lecture rooms are spacious with AC in it. Students get admission with sports quota also. The campus is very large and the ground is very large. The infrastructure is also good.

Interview Experience

3.5

The admission procedure was merit-based so we didn't have to give any test. There were different cut-offs for different categories. I just had to apply to the college and had to be present in the college at the time I was asked. I was just asked some basic questions about myself.

Placement Experience:

The placements at Kirori Mal College are respectable and are getting better. The fifth semester is typically when students become eligible for campus placements. Numerous well known bussineses like Deloitte, KPMG, EY et. Approximately 50-60% of students are placed through campus drives each year. The average package is approxiamtely 5-7 lakhs per year. After getting the degree I plan on applying for a masters degree in the same field.

The course is good but placement is very bad in the campus. The frequency of exams is 2 hours or 3 hours depends on the credit of that subject. The exam level is of moderate level. We had pass the exam studying 1 week before the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

as been from the science background I have deep interest in maths already, and I want to continue my passion for it. The proves the critical thinking the imaginary parts and the applications of mathematics. We see every day it motivates to think about these theorems. The curriculum of course is very good, but due to NEP, we have to study subjects like Hindi in our AEC which is very irrelevant to the curriculum and waste our four hours weekly in mathematics, we mainly deal in proof and theorem. There are very less real word applications that are being taught here. There are various areas for improvement like we can adapt the course or the curriculum.in universities like IITs,Cambridge Oxford and other big universities so that the placement and internship percentage can get improved in our college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested course. It's relevant to the exams in that particular field. The syllabus for life and other exams in this field. I think that there is a lack of actual real life practice in basic courses. If could be made more aligned to what we do in real life it would have been better. The exams are easy enough to pass by just studying one month before exams and submitting the internal assessments properly. There are end semester exams which gives enough time to prepare well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i believe CS hons is a decent course. The curriculum is however, very outdated. We are being taught several topics that have no relevance these days and they arent even taught properly. I believe a far better choice would be doing BTech instead since it has a better course and companies prefer that over BSc CS. In terms of preparing for the real world, i believe this course has no use since the most important parts we have to learn it ourselves. Exams are conducted once at the end of every semester (including practical and theory). However during the semesters, there are multiple tests taken to asses our knowledge regularly
