Laijou Brahma's Review On Maitreyi College, New Delhi

I applied for Lakshmibai College but I shifted my college due to the remote location & underrated reviews & then shifted to Ram Lal college but again left this college too to get into Maitreyi College finally. The admission process was very well organized.I liked the fact that during the admission process our guardians received great hospitality while in other colleges my parents were made to wait outside the college gate in such scorching heat. The college counseling day & department counseling both were very detailed & gave us a great impression of the college.

I chose BA History Honours as I have a love for this particular subject. The college faculty is very friendly & quite amazing. Not only the teaching faculty but the non-teaching staff was also great. In our batch, 50 students were admitted to our department. The professors are very qualified. I felt very lucky to be their student as they are the reason for increasing my interest in the subject. Their teachings & additional information on literally everything gave me more exposure. Our teachers have always provided us the best & enough materials to study, also provided pointers sometimes which made our work easier. We had class tests from time to time whenever we finished a chapter, internal assignments & tests were held. I have to say that it is quite difficult to score in a subject like a history.

I have fewer ideas about placements of college but yes it does happen. We have a college society for placements called placement cell. Internships opportunities are vast, and fests, programs, seminars are frequently conducted by our Placement cell

The overall 3-year course for BA is around 8k, for Bsc is around 23k-26k, Bcom is around 8k-19k. The transactions are always held online in a secure way. Sometimes the site gives some problems & glitches but is always solved when we talk to the provided helpers & officials. I have the least idea for scholarships as I didn't apply for one but i will apply for one this year.

Maitreyi college organises an annual fest called Rhapsody in the month of February. It is one of the best times in college. Great gatherings are taken place due to the attraction of celebrity performances who are invited in every annual fest. A great variety of books are available in the college library including all our suggested readings. Great opportunity for sports players. Sports clubs are available where expert coaches train them to be perfectionists. The best thing about college for me is college societies which are cultural or extracurricular clubs of college. I am part of the Indian Music Society of my college. It includes great experiences, a great learning platform, improves social skills, it actually made me grow as a person.
