Remarks

I first applied for Atm Ram Sanatan Dharma college but I didn't like the crowd there and thus, shifted to Maitreyi college. The admission was done on a merit basis and cut-offs were released and if we fulfill the cut-offs of a college we can apply for the same college. After clearing the cut-off we need to report to the college in person within the next 2 days to verify our identity and documents to confirm the admission. I didn't avail of any quota. After admission, there was an orientation day where we got introduced to all the activities and societies actively working in our college and other college achievements.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because, since 11th Standard, I had an immense interest in Economics and wanted to pursue it. My batch surprisingly got a lot of admissions especially in my course and hence the student-teacher ratio stands around 65:1 but it didn't prove to be much of a hindrance as the faculty is unexplainably good and experienced. Their way of teaching instantly got us connected and was really helpful in solving our doubts. Our exams are conducted twice a year and there were pretty moderate on the scale of difficulty level. Basically, exams are based on your understanding of concepts instead of cramming.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Time and again there are many internships available and we get notified for the same for various posts like marketing, sales, operations, research, videography, designing, etc. with a stipend of around 4000-5000 (totally depends upon the job description and company) .

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements are quite good. There is a specified cell for providing Placements for the last year's students. Many top companies like Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Karvy, HGS etc. visit the college for campus hiring. The salary package ranges around 1.5 to 3 lakhs per annum and around 75%-80% of the students got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I would say that fees is really minimal in a way that most of us can afford. It is just around 6,000 per year which is pretty less as compared to the demand of course. I didn't apply for any financial assistance. There are societies/cells available that provide on-campus jobs and internships and if one want to get one they can easily contact them.

Campus Life

4.5

I am very much satisfied with the social life at college. The crowd and peers are really amazing and enthusiastic. We also have our Annual Fest named Rhapsody and other societal fests that are conducted during January, February, and March where various well-reputed artists perform live. There are all types of books available from a different field in the library and a common area where you can read the newspapers in peace as the proper decorum is maintained in there. To encourage extracurricular activities amongst students, there are many societies like singing, dancing, modeling, art, sports club, NCC and NSS, etc. Societies like Riyaaz, Artisto, Apollonia, Meraki (entrepreneurship cell), and many other societies are run by students for students.

Other Applied Colleges

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College | B.A. Economics (Honours)

I didn't like the infrastructure and crowd very much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose political science because i want to go for government exams and political science is an important subject for clearing government exams As per my info, my curriculum is very close to syllabus for exams like UPSC and SSC For improving teaching methods, projectors should be installed and implemented as it helps us to understand and see it more better The frequency of exam is twice a year as semester exam, and exam is not very tough nor too easy, it is medium level that anyone can score good marks if studied well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding course curriculum, I am not satisfied the additional courses like SAC, VAC, AEC have no purpose, they are just a headache which makes it difficult for students to focus on the main subjects, although I am in favour of GE subjects. The marking scheme of 90 marks written paper and 70 marks for internal is also great. Apart from this talking about political science honours curriculum, I will say it is pretty great, there are difficult concepts and bulky material to study from but it could be improved by reducing the weight/ pressure put up by other subjects- sec,vac...

Companies visit are often at our college like Deloitte, wipro , Infosys , KPMG etc but options are wide only for commerce background students they are limited for arts faculty students like me. Highest package is about 6 to 7 lpa while most of the package ranges between 4 to 6 lpa percentage of students getting are average and they are mostly from comm letce and economic or business background. I would go for journalism and choose IIMC for my master's.
