Remarks

New Horizon College of Engineering is the only college I applied for and got admission in Management Quota. The admission quota was through either KCET or Management, KCET rank <= 14000 would be accepted for Computer Science and Engineering program. No minimum age was mentioned as such, I joined the college at 17. College commenced on 23rd July 2018 with an introductory session and classes began on 24th July.

Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Science and Engineering was always the first preference for me as I was more into subject compared to other subjects, right from the start. Faculty : Student ratio would roughly be 1: 20. Most of the faculty are either Masters or PhD in the subject they teach, teaching method ranges from traditional to modern based on the experience of the faculty. Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIEs) are conducted every month(3) for Internal garding, and are of beginner to intermediate level. Semester End Examinations (SEEs) are conducted following the third CIE with an external examiner for both lab and theory exams.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 225000 per year

Internships Opportunities

All companies that come for placements to offer full-time oppurtunities also offer internships as the first step to enter their company. Usually the final/major project is considered for placements and to train us for it, we also have mini projects every semester in different domains.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placements from the end of 6th semester itself, previous batch records display 30 companies visited the campus and 14 of which offered atleast 1 offer to a student with highest package of 19.14L from Lowe's India. Companies visited and highest package offered: TCS: 6L Infosys: 6L Cognizant: 8L Lowe's India: 19.14L L&TI: 4L Cerner Corporation: 3L Quest Global: 3L and many more Out of 300 students in CSE department, 119 have been placed already. I plan to attend placements and join a corporate firm right after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost to study in New Horizon College is as followed: Management quota: 2.25L/annum KCET quota: 1.5L/annum The college provides 100% placement assistance but I haven't recieved any offer as placements start from the end of 6th semester.

Campus Life

New Horizon College of Engineering hosts one of the largest college fests in Bangalore named 'Sargam', Sargam is usually hosted in the month of September. Tech fests are held every semester with different clubs hosting them. The college has 2 ibraries, and one of it is accesible 24 hours a day, The library really helps for finding books related to the course. Classrooms are equipped with a traditional black board and a white board beside it, Benches are wooden with cuishioned seats and can hold 4 students comfortably. Ventillation is properly maintained with suitably placed windows. Our Campus has sports facilities like basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Football, indoor basketball court, board games, table tennis and many more, the campus also has 2 gym facilities - one indoor and one outdoor. The outdoor gym is accessible to everyone whereas the indoor one requires a membership. The college also has student clubs run by students in every department like Green warriors club, Drama club

The faculty's are well qualified, and they have a good teaching methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been from diploma background, after diploma I joined this course as later entry (direct admission to 2nd year). In diploma also, I have studied the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course. As I know the basic concepts about this course, it is easy for me now to understand the concepts.

Faculties are highly experienced and ready to help all the time
Good infrastructure with well equipped labs, library, sports
Adds extra curricular activities like teaching AI and other trending topics in college

Dislikes

Washrooms need to be clean and good to use especially for girls hygiene it has to be good
Hostel food is not that great and needs improvement in the quality of food
Thought schedule everyday hard to cope up with everything

Good the teachers find the best ways to make the subject interesting and teach us in the most interesting way they will help the weak students to feel the subject as a cake walk and help all the students out in the same way

There is a discipline in our college and good atmosphere

from 5 th semester there will be campus place ment is there There will many companies are visited , like Amazon, google, There is 60 lakh per annual but i didn't known which companies there will be 80 percent students are getting placement my plan is to make money and help the poor peoples There is beast placement in our college , there will be a internships and good here for Hailey package in this college

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Likes

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

Best location of college in the silicon valley of India

Conditions of hostels and mess is not good
Teachers and professors are not good in explaining concepts to students

Placement Experience:

From the end of 6th semester students become eligible for campus placemets.Many companies visit the campus including Oracle, UI path, etc offering students interships and full time jobs.The highest package offered to the student is 50 lakh per annum from UI Path and the average package of CSE branch is around 10lakh. Nearly 93% of students are placed in various companies.My plans after graduation is to grab a good on campus placement and look forward to my other goals in my life.

An honest review

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.

I tried for dayanand sagar but didnt want to get into it as the fees was on the higher side comparing to new horizon college.
