Remarks

I applied to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham because it is having the best NIRF ranking(4th) and because of its eco-friendly campus. Amrita University will call for admissions on its online websites. We want to apply it and wait for their mails. We will be informed of the date for our selection procedure later in our emails. The selection procedure contains a written exam and an interview.

I am pursuing my Integrated MA here. We are 61students. Most of the faculties here are PhD holders and versatile. They are really worth and helpful in academics. We are having a semester exam but also two periodicals are conducted. Since it is an integrated course there is much difficulty but faculties are really helping and because of these periodicals we are able to stick on to the topics.

Internships Opportunities

They are offering internships in engineerings and for many courses mainly from Oracle, Robert Bosch, Bangalore, Microchip Technology, Bangalore, Pricol Limited, Zoho Corporation, Getview Tech Labs Private Limited, Knowledge Lens. A lot of students are doing R&D internship in NOKIA and working as Seasonal Intern at Cerner Healthcare Technologies, Bangalore.

Placement Experience

For Integrated MA English, within the campus placements are available after graduation. And also literature students generally opt for other things like going for a PhD, for translator jobs, publishing like that. For other courses, nearly 70% of students are getting placements all over the globe. Our college is giving 80%placements for engineering courses. They are mainly providing internships from the companies like Oracle India Pvt limited, Robert Bosch, Microchip Technology, NOKIA etc. But for Literature students generally, there are fewer placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

For my course, Integrated MA English for 1year, it is 1lakh and since it is a 5year course, the total fees will be 5lakh. Educational loans are accepted by the college. For eligible students, they are also providing scholarships. But as it is a deemed university some scholarships like single-girl child etc are not available.

Campus Life

Our college life is really peaceful and it is the students who conduct cultural programs and other activities. Sports is there but not so active. Literary clubs, yoga clubs, music clubs, theatre clubs, dance clubs are some of the active clubs in our college.'' Vidyut'' India's largest multi-fest is conducted by our college.

Starting ug life

My collage full of nature covered, birds sound in after 6.00 pm I loved it. And college is like greenish and opposite site there is thindal murugan kovill this is so good
Fancy store and canteen also have in our college. Big sports ground also have in our college, hand ball was so good in our college we also celebrated 50th year celebration of college
Pongal celebration are celebrated highly like columbus and many games are there in pongal celebration in inside our college we are celebrated happily. Food also provided in our college

Dislikes

I didn't like that our staff keep test in lunch hours also . They strictly maintain the class always test , seminars
No western dress wear in our department I didn't like that chudi and pant full covered shall we want to wear in our college
No free hours given . Home work like scholl . I fill I am going to school

Course Curriculum Overview:

Surroundings are good. Exam timing 3 hours . And normal internal test is about one hour maximum one and half hour. Test are strictly maintain. Teaching in tamil can understand by students I think so . And ppt method need more in class . Staff to teach all the lessons and students sometimes take one part of lesson

My sweet college days!!

Likes

College environment was very neat and clean always.
The birds they kept at the front side campus were so pleasant and calm
Campus was large in size and comfortable

Dislikes

College management is very strict in handling students
College management allot less money as prize money for academic winners
Students should get pass even for 2 minutes late entry

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

The rigour of the course is very intense. The syllabus which is followed here is intense and rigorous. Its unique compared to the syllabus offered in other colleges of India.
Staff lore is very good in MSE. Most of the staffs encourage doubts and are also willing to have conversations with you. Faculties are knowledgeable and they know there stuff very well. They take much interests if you reach out to them through mail.
They provide a lot of guest lectures which gives us a lot of exposure and we get to know how economics works in the real life policy making sectors.

Dislikes

Theres no opportunities for sports and extra curricular activities. They don’t conduct any events rather it is done by putting our own money and by the efforts of the students only.
The campus is very small, and there are no proper areas for sports etc and also the canteen is very bad. It is super minimal.
If you want social life then this college is not the place, only the studious one survive here. Well you can still make friends here but then the college ‘itself’ does not provide any social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics,python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.

Peaceful atmosphere where we can concentrate and study
weekly dawah class where we can learn many things
Qualified faculty members who are always ready to help us out

Dislikes

The fees structure of the college is little high
They do not provide any study material to prepare ourself for semester exams
They do not take us for a long trip to make our mind feel fresh

Other colleges had more theory heavy curiculum while this college offered a well structured curiculum with mix of tehory, labs and projects. Some colleges had larger class size, limited faculty interaction but this college maintains a healthy faculty student ratio....Read More

Amrita and its Dubbing voice

I applied for vit, snu, cuet examination. I couldnt get vit because of high rank, in cuet exam i got seat at pondicherry university. but still chose amrita for its reputation, infrastructure, and curriculum. first you should attend an entrance examination called AEEE escpecially for amrita vishwa vidhyapeetham, which has 2 phases. after both phases you get placed in a ranking system. for each range of ranks each department holds a rank exceptancy of the entrance participants. other than AEEE you can also get throw using JEE marks...Read More

A decent university

I applied to many colleges like Thapar College, Manipal College, VIT, and LPU and others. I got selected from many colleges, but I chose this college because of its ranking as it ranked 4th best university and 1st in the best private university. This was the only reason for the selection. Now it is also the 7th best university in india and 2nd in private universities. I only got rejected from the Manipal College of Engineering, and they didn't mention the reason for the rejection, but I assume the entrance exam was not so good for me. I rejected other colleges because I find Amrita University better than others. There are many ways to get admission, like from JEE mains or advanced and Amrita's own exam, AEEE.
