Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is quite new and advance. Every year they add new electives with trend. The curriculum is advanced but the content is a little bit less, and it depends upon the professor also because they make the ppts for teaching. You can say it somewhat prepares for the real life scenario like placement and interviews. The course content should be increased and a more practical way of learning should be implemented instead of theoretical knowledge. They take exams quite often like every 2 weeks, there will be 1 test and they are quite easy. It will be like a revision test for us, which makes it helpful to remember. The difficulty level of the exam increases as the final exam is the hardest one.

Internships Opportunities

4

They provide quite a internship for every students in the college. They have provided internships for all the students at the L&T construction which is the biggest construction company in India . The certificate we got from there is also valuable for future and the internship is of 20 to 25 days .

Placement Experience

4

From the seventh semester only we our placement journey starts. This year our placement was too good. Almost 80% in the civil department got placed which is huge and the average package was around 4.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs. Many big companies like L&T construction, shobha Construction and many others. The highest for the civil engineering is 7.5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 250000 rs for my course fees, but they provide a scholarship called Chancellor Scholarship which give a scholarship upto 100% but to maintain the scholarship we have to score a Sgpa of 8.0. The fees of my batchmates were also similar, but many of them got scholarships varying from 25 to 100%.

Campus Life

4

There are two main fests for the campus and one is organized by the campus but other is totally organized by students funded by college. The first fest is Anokha which is basically a tech fest it last upto a week and the price pool of around 10 to 15 lakhs, varying every year and the other big fest Gokulasthami which is basically a cultural fest. The class rooms are quite basic. It is equipped with fans and no ACs because the college claim to reduce the pollution and consumption of less energy and there are projectors equipped in every class rooms . The new classrooms are quite advance with plugs on every bench and desk . There are 4 groups divided as per the houses and departments and there will be a sports week organized between the 4 houses and it will go upto 1 week.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are only 4 people occupied rooms in the hostel and 1 occupied rooms for the 4th year students. The rooms is quite small for 4 people to accommodate. Nowadays the first year hostels are new and occupied with wooden furnitures and they are spacious and consist of big windows and they look beautiful but the other hostels are not soo spacious and dark and the furnitures are made of iron . The room consists if 2 tables 4 chairs 4 almiras and thats it .

Admission

I applied to many colleges like Thapar College, Manipal College, VIT, and LPU and others. I got selected from many colleges, but I chose this college because of its ranking as it ranked 4th best university and 1st in the best private university. This was the only reason for the selection. Now it is also the 7th best university in india and 2nd in private universities. I only got rejected from the Manipal College of Engineering, and they didn't mention the reason for the rejection, but I assume the entrance exam was not so good for me. I rejected other colleges because I find Amrita University better than others. There are many ways to get admission, like from JEE mains or advanced and Amrita's own exam, AEEE. Most people give the AEEE for getting admission and the overall experience is quite simple.

Faculty

5

As per civil engineering, the faculty are too nice.Only 2 of them were bad but overall experience with faculty was nice . They are helpful not only in studies but with other things too .They genuinely care for the students. Civil department is a small department soo factulty to students ratio is usually 1:4 or 1:3.5. Dr K. Mini , Dr Vishwanath , Dr. Anjali pillai and Dr. Dhanya sathyan are one of the best faculties . They help a lot for the project either financially and for testing There are 2 major exams and 2 to 3 test are there for internal marks evaluation. The mid term exam and and evaluation are quite easy . We only have to study the pdfs provided by them but for the final exams we have to study books and the exams are quite practical and tough.

Night Life

5

The gyms opens at 6 am in the morning and closes at 7 pm in the afternoon. There are 2 gyms for the boys and 1 for the girls . The canteen opens at 8 am in the morning and closes 8 pm in the afternoon. The night canteen opens at 9 pm and closes at 10 pm in the night. The library opens at 6 am in the morning and 10 pm in the night and in Sundays it closes at 5pm. The department stores also opens at 8 am in the morning and closes at 8 pm .
