Remarks

The process of admission into any NLU is through CLAT. You have to be in the merit list of the particular NLU to be eligible. This merit list is declared at the result day after which you are required to visit your respective University for Counselling and Admission. 3 merit lists are declared at certain intervals wherein you have the option to either lock your seat in the allotted NLU or apply for an upgrade to a higher preference NLU. The third merit list is final. Counselling day at NUSRL was just a collection of the academic documents, filling up the admission forms and signing some declarations. NUSRL has reservations for different categories including Domiciles of the Jharkhand State.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Each batch of BALLB consists of 120 students equally divided into 2 sections. The faculties are P.hds in their respective departments. They create their own course curriculum while staying in the prescribed guidelines issued by the UGC(University Grants Commission) and the BCI(Bar Council of India). Also, at the start of the third year, we get to choose our Honours Subject. We have a three-tier teaching and examination method. These include Mid-semester, End-Semester and Internal Assessment Examinations. These examinations range from Moderate to Tough in Difficulty. The Course Curriculum also includes preparation of Research Projects and CREs(Court Room Exercises). There is a well established Moot Court Competition Culture at the University.

Internships Opportunities

5

After every Semester we have an Internship Break which is more than a month long. The students opt for internships under Advocates and Firms alike as per their interest and future Career choices. The Internship Experiences are interesting and we get a lot to learn from our supervising officer as well as other interns. You may also get a chance to interact with interns from other NLUs and Law Schools of the country. It is truly an enriching experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students start getting their PPOs (Pre-Placement Offers) in the fourth year. The University has a dedicated center for Placements- The internships and Placement Committee. Major firms have offered jobs to the students of NUSRL. These include Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Nishit Desai Associates. Almost all the students who apply for placements through Campus are offered Jobs. Many students also choose to go for Litigation. I have plans to go for Litigation too. Some students also go for Judiciary. Some also opt for their higher studies at universities abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure has a slight difference each year but it would cost you approximately of 10 lakhs over five years. The difference is mainly due to the mess fees which is updated every semester. The students have the option to avail of education loans from any Bank.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus of NUSRL is huge. One side of the boundary runs parallel to a river while the other overlooks the huge Ring Road of Ranchi. The University has three canteens. One is Nescafé and the other two are run by the Mess contractors (One of which is in the Academic Block). We also have a Night Canteen at the Boys' Hostel which functions from 11PM till 4AM. The Campus life at NUSRL is one to crave for. The Library is situated at the Academic block with the recent addition of another floor solely dedicated for self-study. Almost all the books are available. We also have an online database which the students can also access remotely. Clubs and Centres of Learning!!! A student can choose from a wide variety of choices available as per their interest.

Hostel Facilities

4

In the first year, you have to share the room with one other person. But after that you have your own personal room. The Hostel Room is spacious enough for one person. Although you won't have any problem sharing it in the first year. The Room has a bed, a study table, an Almirah and your own personal BALCONY!! The Hostel is equipped with Wi-Fi and a separate LAN Connection for each room. We have a Gym, a study room and a common TV Area. We also have a dedicated Indoor Games area. The Food at Mess. Well it isn't great but it's better than other colleges. The food menu changes every 2-3 months and offers a wide variety of dishes (Chinese, South and North Indian, Continental). Also, major restaurants and fast food places deliver inside the campus. Note: If you are getting admission here, please try to reach the Mess on Wednesdays as early as possible during Lunch. It's Biryani Day and the queue gets huge.

Bokaro Steel City College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Physics)
Reviewed on Jul 16, 2021(Enrolled 2019)

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the beginning of my 11th and 12th standard I'm very fond of Physics and mathematics that's why I choose to persue honours in physics and also there are more opportunities and jobs after bsc in physics compared to other streams. In bokaro steel city college the faculty: student ratio is not that great(1 per 250 students) as it is managed by state government. The qualification of teachers is above average (Almost every teacher has a P.hd) but the quality of teaching is not that great. Teachers often miss there classes and there way of teaching is very boring. On usual exams are taken in a interval of 6 to 8 months. But due to covid situation the exams got very much delayed l mean upto 10 to 12months. If you can complete the syllabus just by having few glances of the topics and follow the previous year question its quite easy to pass the examination by securing good marks. But most of the students always fail (almost 50% every semester).
