NLUJAA Cutoff FAQ

Ques. Do NLUJAA cutoffs vary for different rounds of CLAT counselling?

Ans. Yes, NLUJAA cutoffs can vary across different rounds of CLAT counselling. The first round generally has higher cutoffs due to limited seat availability and higher competition. As counselling progresses, cutoffs may drop slightly depending on seat vacancies, withdrawals, and candidate preferences. Therefore, candidates with ranks slightly above the expected cutoff should still participate in later rounds.

Ques. Can candidates get admission to NLUJAA if their CLAT rank is higher than the expected cutoff range?

Ans. Candidates with ranks higher than the expected cutoff range still have a chance of admission, especially in later counselling rounds. Factors such as seat availability, category-wise vacancies, and candidates opting out can influence final cutoffs. Reserved category candidates may also benefit from category-specific cutoffs. It is advisable to attend all counselling rounds and keep NLUJAA as a preference if eligible.

Basically, I took the CLAT exam, and in that, I got selected for NLU Assam. There were other options of other NLUs too, which are lower in ranking than NLU Assam, but my family decided that I should go here only because some of my close relatives, mainly my mother's side relatives, live here too, which made the place a good option. So other than NLU Assam, I did not applied in any other colleges as such. The admission to my college takes place through the CLAT examination only. The eligibility is to clear the exam and have a reasonable ranking in it. I am not aware of the cutoffs because it varies every year and more or less also depends on the CLAT consortium. My overall admission experience was good. There was a lot of academic processess which was troublesome but otherwise it was good only.
