NLUJAA Important Dates FAQ

Ques. What happens if a candidate misses a CLAT counselling round for NLUJAA?

Ans. If a candidate misses a particular CLAT counselling round, they may still participate in subsequent rounds, provided they remain eligible and complete the required registration steps. However, skipping a round can reduce the chances of securing a preferred seat, as seats are allotted and confirmed progressively. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CLAT and NLUJAA portals to avoid missing key deadlines. Active participation in all counselling rounds improves the likelihood of admission.

Ques. Can admission dates for NLUJAA change after being announced?

Ans. Yes, admission-related dates for NLUJAA, especially those linked to CLAT counselling and seat allotment, may be revised due to administrative or regulatory reasons. Changes can occur because of court orders, extended counselling rounds, or delays in entrance exam processes. Candidates should rely only on official notifications released by the Consortium of NLUs and NLUJAA’s official website. Regular monitoring ensures applicants stay updated and do not miss critical admission events.

Students from Arts, Commerce, or Science streams are equally eligible, provided they meet the minimum qualifying marks and clear the CLAT examination. However, having a background in subjects like Political Science, History, or Economics may help students better understand the initial law curriculum. Ultimately, CLAT performance plays the decisive role in selection.

Ques. Does the expected CLAT cutoff guarantee admission to BA-LLB (Hons.) at NLUJAA?

Ans. Meeting the expected CLAT cutoff range does not guarantee admission, as final seat allotment depends on several factors. These include the total number of applicants, category-wise seat availability, counselling rounds, and candidate preferences during CLAT counselling. Admission:

Basically, I took the CLAT exam, and in that, I got selected for NLU Assam. There were other options of other NLUs too, which are lower in ranking than NLU Assam, but my family decided that I should go here only because some of my close relatives, mainly my mother's side relatives, live here too, which made the place a good option. So other than NLU Assam, I did not applied in any other colleges as such. The admission to my college takes place through the CLAT examination only. The eligibility is to clear the exam and have a reasonable ranking in it. I am not aware of the cutoffs because it varies every year and more or less also depends on the CLAT consortium. My overall admission experience was good. There was a lot of academic processess which was troublesome but otherwise it was good only.
