A Grounded College Experience

Hostel Facilities:

In our university, till 2nd year, every student has to live in a double room, in which two students live. From third year, every student gets a single room. In both the types of the room, all the facilities are available, there is bedding, a table, and an almirah each. Every wing has a common washroom with 4 washrooms in total. Then there is a common area to dry our clothes. Then there is a paid washing machine facility also available, which students can avail. Other than this, there is a common room, and gym facilities available. Maids almost on all days come to clean the rooms. The hostel also provides mess facilities, and provides decent food, so meal quality all in all is good only. The only problem is that the menu become repetitive throughout the 6 months period. The fee for hostel and amenities is around Rs.33000, and this amount is included in the annual fees. I think the fees is quite extra as compared to the amenities provided, but its okay. I live in hostel only and not in rent or PG.

Dislikes

One more girls hostel is needed less space, also NLUJAA should think of more healthier way mainly for the mess food .

Hostel rooms are clean and there is both double and single seater . Single seater is available in the 3rd year . Both veg-nonveg is provided in the meal full hyganic is mentained in the mess , meal is average but those who preferred healthier life style tough for those to adjust .

At first year rooms are not that good but after 2nd year it is mandatory to have good rooms along with ceiling fans, stand fan and also wall fans. Food is better then most of the hostel out there , hostel is equipped with lifts . Rented room and pg is not available near

Campus review on NLU ASSAM

The hostels are no doubt are with best infrastructure ranging from its comfort to hygiene. There are services like daily housekeeping service, a privilege of securing a bed, study table and a personal wardrobe. The institution demands mandatory hostel securing facility. The meal quality and menu of the hostel is decent.

Likes

The university have a very good infrastructure, classrooms are completely digital with ac facilities. The hostels are very well maintained.

The whole campus is not completeled yet, the construction of a new hostel and sports facilities are still pending.

The infrastructure of the university hostels are very good compared to any other government institution in the country. The university will also provide laundry services soon. The mess is a bit of complain sometimes, which will always be there. The menu is fixture of dishes from all over the country.

The hostel is located in a beautiful place. The view from outside the windows is very good. The hostel rooms are available for double and single accommodation. The rooms are fully furnished with beds, study tables, chairs and almirahs. The hostel has several facilities like a reading hall, gymnasium, yoga, separate prayer hall and separate library room for hoteliers, etc. The hostel has a common room facility with LCD TV and cable connectivity. The dining hall is quite spacious and the seating arrangement is very well planned. An indoor games facility is also available. In short, the hostel is a very good place to be in.

College review

Yes, hostels are alright. The one minus point is that they only have shared bathrooms. That is one huge problem for most of the people. The rooms aren't Air conditioned, unlike the rest of the college.

A marvelous instituition in the making

Yes I have opted for hostel. The hostel is great. Better then most other colleges in India. It is clean and well maintained. here are two hostels one for boys and the other for girls, with single and double occupancy, with smokeless kitchen, spacious dining area, reading hall, gymnasium, yoga , prayer hall and library room, etc. In order to facilitate the overall growth of its students, the University has developed a congenial and homely atmosphere in its residential campus. The students belonging to different cultural backgrounds amalgamate to bring forth a sense of unity even while retaining their diversity thereby presenting a true picture of the saying, “Unity in Diversity”.

An NLU is a place to be!

The hostel facility is amazing and the infrastructure and rooms are one of the best. Hostel rooms are not usually this well designed (in terms of th interiors). All necessary facilities are provided in the hostel. The mess food is average and just what one expects from a "mess".
